I like it.
Excellent video quality, good audio pickup for making videos to save or send or for voice commanded programs. The curved base 'thingy' is flexable like an old gooseneck lamp and conforms to hold itself in whatever shape you need, It hooks onto a flatscreen monitor as an "L" shape but can be bent to set it on your desk and hold itself at whatever angle you want. A ball socket base on the camera allows it to be aimed as well. The software that comes with it is simple to use but does all kinds of things you want. The HD is clear and the other as well. Takes very HD pictures as well. I didn't really have that much to spend on a web cam.... but glad I did. Well worth the money

Absolutely great - surprisingly from Miscrosoft?
The autofocus function gets annoying at times but tolerable. It does have a great microphone and also resolution. The only issue is the handle so it could be nicer and have more grip.I have bought this item 5 times!

Great, if nothing else suits your fancy.
The media could not be loaded. When I got the package, it wasn't in an official box. Just those bubble-wrap lined yellow packaging bags. Kinda made me concerned if the item is what I ordered or it is fine. When I opened the bag I found the camera, no damage found. Thankfully.Plugged it in my computer, installed the driver successfully then it needed it's software. So here's where the problem begins:This webcam does not like webcam softwares (Windows Lifecam and Cyberlink). Not even it's own (Windows Lifecam). Perhaps it might record better in using said programs, but it starts doing weird things. Such as the pitch in the audio goes down, video speeds up or slows down and sometimes it stops recording and includes the length of how long it is on. So a pseudorecording we can call it? Very strange things. However, the webcam still holds 720p. Auto-focus is a little annoying but if you know how to make it focus by moving around or shining a light on it, it's okay.Best software I used with it: Windows Live Moviemaker. With Moviemaker, I did not get the same problems as I did with the other programs. So that's better for recording with the webcam. You can move the webcam around in a 360 angle, move it and set it down wherever you want as long it remains connected to the computer. OH! Also the cord has this little doo-hicky that helps you keep the cord in place so you don't get a tangled mess. That's a plus right thar! :DMicrophone is great. Keeps most sound out and compared to most built-in webcams (My computer is a Compaq Presario CQ57 by the way.) the recorded sound is a hell of a lot more crisper.Every time the webcam is in use, a blue light comes out from the bottom of the lens. Don't worry, won't get recorded unless you hold a mirror to it.Aluminum body is a plus, so that it doesn't get damaged as easily.Overall: Great, if nothing else suits your fancy.

Highly reliable product that works with Windows 7 or 10
Highly reliable product. I have two webcams, each installed on different workstations, one in operation now for several years. The microphone and camera system work well for Zoom conferences. The webcam can be used with a headset (of course) if desired. Field of view is effective for one or multiple participants, unlike very wide-field webcams. Setup is simple in Windows 7 and 10.

Good little webcam for the price. build quality is excellent/tough. Mic/autofocus not the best.
Headline says it all. Autofocus sometimes tends to overwork (going in/out of focus and seeming confused). I'm able to lock that down with software since I'm usually shooting a fixed distance in a conference room. Plays nice with linux - hence the round-up to 5stars!

Quick and easy. Just what IT ordered
When I was tasked with purchasing a webcam for users to check out, I was concerned. I needed something that would work right out of the box. I have to say that I was very pleased with how easy this has been for my end-users to install and use quickly, with minimal IT involvement. This camera has allowed our training division to easily conference in the outlying stations, the Chief to video conference with other districts, as well as any other video communication that has been needed. Additionally, it has been a great addition to our video training team for creating appealing video content. Not having to worry about the technology has been a big help when putting together the training videos.

Very dim picture, no way to adjust.
I installed this on computer that also had a webcam, but that web cam is intermittent and the computer microphone is poor. So ordered this web cam. Unfortunately, the image in Skype and Camera is VERY DARK, much darker than the image from the built in web cam. This webcam comes in a brown box with absolutely no instructions and there is no downloaded software in order to provide features like zoom and brightness. In other words, though Microsoft is charging full price, they DO NOT PROVIDE SOFTWARE to allow you to adjust the brightness or zoom, and the new version of their Skype software deleted all these features that would have allowed people to make these adjustments when the camera first came out. By deleting all the features needed to operate this camera and adjust its brightness, it is pretty much worthless as a camera. On the other hand, the microphone part is very good.

A really nice cam for the price.
Picture quality on this cam is great !! Price on Amazon was the lowest I could find based mainly on free shipping on orders over 35 dollars. You will have to download the software from MS but that is not an issue and you get some nice features with it.I have always had logitech webcams but I am sick of there crappy picture quality and lack of features and wanted to try something new.
