In-Depth, Insightful Interviews
This is an excellent book for those who wish to get inside the minds of film editors and gain insight into the editorial process. I enjoyed the previous book just as much as this one and would recommend both for anyone serious about learning the craft of editing. Oldham has really created something of permanent value here by publishing such extensive interviews and by knowing editing and the work of each editor well enough to ask highly intelligent, deeply probing questions. Her knowledge and skill in this area no doubt helped the editors give thoughtful and comprehensive responses. I don't know how she pulled off putting together this material, but it will stand the test of time for future generations to study and learn from.

Heavy sharpie underlining in two colors throughout.
I am a doc filmmaker needing to know what my peers are thinking and this book is helpful. However, underlining from another reader I may not agree with doesn't allow me the freedomof my own needs and observations.

Fascinating book
Well-researched, very sensitive and insightful. Gives an interesting and tantalizing perspective of what happens "behind the scenes." The people she interviewed are very lively, creative folks who create films for a living. If you want to know how good movies really get made, read this.

Great follow up
Fantastic follow up to the first book. More of a discussion of the expressive nature of editing than that technical one, which is welcome.

Very good book
Gabriella Oldham did a very good research on all the editors - I like the way she does the interviews, I got so much information out of it. I totally recommend that one and the first one to everybody who studies editing on a university, like me. I can recommend the book to all other movie-lovers who are interested in editing. The writing of the book is easy, so everybody can understand it.
