Works Well for a Big GPS
It was not immediately apparent how to adjust the seating of the gps once mounted to the ball and to the vent, but once you see how it's supposed to work, it's very stable. It does end up closing the vent in my case, but that's doubtless better for the gps unit anyway. Don't know if it will be durable, but it works great so far on my very large (7") Garmin gps.

So far so good
I was gifted a new Garmin GPS because the navigation system in my car is unreliable despite numerous visits to the dealership. I would have used a beanbag because of years of experience with the Garmin windshield mount falling off the windshield and hitting me on the wrist while I am driving. Ouch! But in the car that I am driving, the dashboard is not flat and there are speakers and vents nearly everywhere. at first I thought this vent clip would not work because of the size of my “flukes” on my vents, but then I found one vent with narrower flaps that aim toward the drivers window, and it puts the GPS in the perfect position and also kind of out of sight so that no one will be tempted to snatch it. I was planning to return it until I realized that it would work on that one vent.

Very well designed!
This is the perfect Garmin GPS attachment. Easy install. Fits tightly into vent - does not move around! I'm ordering two more!

Does not fit JK Wrangler vents.
This does not work on my Jeep, because it is not long enough to grab the far side of the vent fins.I was pleased when I opened the package. It seems to be of reasonable quality for the price. Just doesn't work for my vents.

Better than I expected.
Installation is easy. Just place it with the hook down and catch the vent blade then tighten the knob. It took me a try or 2 to get it right. I drive a 2015 Subaru Forester and I have to attach it to the lower blade in a center vent so the legs can reach the dash for support. Once you get it into place, it stays put. You may need to close off the air flow of that vent so hot or cold air is not blowing directly on the GPS. My vent blades are horizontal, so I have no idea on vertical blades. My guess is that it would at the bottom of the vent.

Sticks out from the vent too far.
This mount protrudes a little too far and interferes with the gear shifter on a Honda Odyssey. It's not very stable on bumpy roads and after 16 months it would droop under the weight of the Nuvi GPS while sitting still.

DOES NOT FALL OFF VENT
I can't believe I found a car vent holder that holds my GPS and does NOT fall off. Another reason I bought this car vent mount is to keep the GPS out of the hot sun on the car dashboard in the summer. I use the dashboard mount in cooler weather when the sun is not so hot or when there is an overcast. But in the summer, I use this car vent GPS mount. If you want to use this car vent mount all season long, use the windshield/feet setting in the winter so that you do not blow heat directly on the GPS. Heat kills electronics.
