Logiblocs Logirobot

ok lets talk about its fetures; it has a soft button so that when it bangs into something this button may be pressed, in practice this is very tricky and certain obstacles it will never be able to detect through this rather crude method; it has a light sensor so that it stays on bit of white card or allegedly follows a light, the sensor is too sensitive and it will frequently not stay on a road of white card for too long, and when it comes to detecting light sources and following the light or something, the ambient light in a room prevents this because of the over sensitivity of the sensors; it uses an infra red remote control ooooooh but actually no since the range is pathetic and is too weak to transmit beyond any obstacle; has some odd bits of logiblocks, the only ones of which you will use will be the pulse one and of course the light sensor.After a child has had a look at all the blocks and everything and you try to help them with the mundane experiments they will get bored of the lack of any logic in this logiRobot and use it as a remote control car, so instead of getting this just buy a proper remote control car made by someone who knows how to make them.I don't see any education value in this toy, it wont teach logic because it lacks the neccessary components to do that.It's poorly designed, this is highlighted by the fact that your expected and encouraged to use sticky tape to put the bits in the right place and the most tricky button bumper thing.I can't stress how much of a let down this thing is, seriously if you want to teach some electronics or something to a kid then get them an electronics kit.If your looking for a robot then this isn't it.

They sent me one with instructions in french!!!Had to go online and print out the English version!! Sad that Amazon has so many other sellers with less than stellar processes and controls!Otherwise a neat gadget - but far form perfect and not as exciting or fun for kids as the spy kit.

The Logirobot kit is an ideal gift for boys or girls age around 10-12 years. It makes them think about how things work and then they can create a robot which responds to their commands. You can change what the robot does, so it is not just a toy you play with once, instead you can go back to it time and time again. Ideal for bright inquisitive kids. Plus they have a fantastic customer services department should you need assistance.

'Logirobot' is the first Logiblocs product we have bought - in this case as a birthday gift for a nine year old. She enjoys it, as do three other children ranging from 3 to 10 - that is when they can detach it from a bunch of adults also keen to play with it. I am sure this will not be the last Logiblocs product we shall buy. In fact what to give for birthdays could be solved for quite some time.Alan Read

This is the second product we have bought in this range and we are all more than pleased with it.There were over 60 parts and almost endless tasks that could be set.I guess it is never going to compete with a Wii Fit for example, but that's not what it is about. It has been fun creating tasks, each of us trying to out-do the other.The kids always win in the end by the way...

No qualms about reccomending the LOGIC ROBOT 001.My nine year old grandson is keen try out and understand the jobof all the different components.On being asked what he liked about it,my grandson just said everything.You willnot get a better reccomendation than that!There was a minor fault with a componant. I`ve been intouch with the company and i am very pleased with there response.You must be interested in the product tobe reading this.Do`nt put it off, just buy it.
