Should be called "Learn to Make Beautiful Panels by Table Saw"
I like to work with hand tools as much as possible, so when I saw this book subtitled "Learn to Make Beautiful Panels by Hand" I thought it would be perfect. I was surprised and disappointed to see that a lot of the book talks about how to make jigs with a table saw and how the grids that form the frame of the kumiko are made with a table saw. The only thing done by hand is cutting the angles on the ends of the inner pieces (using a chisel and a jig made using a table saw). If, like me, you want to learn about making Kumiko by hand, I'd recommend Desmond King's books and Adrian Preda's youtube videos instead of this book.If you're happy to use a table saw to do a lot of the work making kumiko, then this book is okay, although the Desmond King books give a lot more in the way of different patterns to try.
