Simple, classic muddler
This is a classic muddler for use with citrus and sugar (ie an old fashioned). The stain wears off over time if you put it in the dishwasher, and I actually like it better now without the stain. Bartenders recommend this flat type over the “toothed” for most purposes. The price is great. Don’t waste your time and money with something fancier.

I don't muddle often, but when I do I'm already in a good mood, so I'm not sure how unbiased I can be! LOL! Seriously, though, it's well made, solid, the finish is very nice and smooth, no splintering. I have not and will not be putting it in the dishwasher.

WickedlySatisfied
Bought this to accompany my bar set and couldnt be happier. Its a very affordable muddler but its construction is solid and made of good wood. The bottom is flat and without any poor workmanship, so it muddles very well and quick. Good grip and easy to wash.

not delivered as pictures
I was not quite happy with the color - I was expecting a wooden brown color - intead it was bright red! Price was good and delivered on time but not at all what I ordered. I see that is says colors may vary but wasn't expecting such a drastic one - thought maybe light or dark wood - but not red! How was I to make sure the one pictured was the one I would receive?

A Bar Speciality Tool -
Ya got a planter with mint growing in it? I do. Have you heard of a Mint Julep? On a hot day, a Mint Julep is an answer, and to mix it properly, you need to "smash" the mint in the bottom of the glass. This is the proper tool to do the "smashing". I guess the Muddler could be used on an unruly brother-in-law too, especially after a couple of Juleps. (I also add mint leaves to my small potatoes and roast them, with garlic and olive oil.)

good size but chipping varnish out of box
After researching for a wood muddler I decided to go on buy this one based that it was wood and it mentioned that it was alcohol resistant Highlypolished hardwood. Not Varnish !The size of it is good and so is the shape.Out of the box I was excited to open it once received only to discover a chipping mess. The varnish is peeling off the bottom and also ever the upc sticker was.T eas too cheap to return. I would take fine grain sand paper and polish back to the highly polished hardwood that I had ordered. And not some questionable varnish posdibly from china.

Take that, citrus and leafy plants.
Nice flat bottom, smooth handle, good length. If you need to muddle things this will do that. I'd recommend taking out aggression on mint. Maybe drown it in some bourbon afterward for good measure.

Great muddler but goo-leaving sticker!
Just received this muddler. It looks great and feels nice; the only reason I give it less than five stars is the darn sticker. They put a sticker right on the muddler that you have to scrape off with your fingernails that leaves a sticky goo. It's unfortunate, as other than that I love it so far.
