Works well and you can see the bottom of the bowl as it is a light color.

Item disappointment 100 percent!
I should have taken my $$$ and thrown it out the window, very VERY dissatisfied with this item.It was intended for birds to get a drink but leaked so my husband glued the bottom and it's still useless....not a happy camper about this and thankfully it wasn't too much but still.....
