This is a cheap clone of the interapid dial test indicator, but it is surprisingly decent.Pros:- Cheap- Easy to read- Repeatable within a reasonable tolerance- Adjustable stem which many other cheap indicators lackCons:- The dial face is stiff- Stem is really stiff, but that may be desirable to some.- The movement clatters if moved quickly. However, this does not seem to impact accuracy.All in all, not a bad indicator. Definitely recommend for those who want an interapid style indicator without spending $300.

Not good at all

I use this to measure runout and it works good for my uses. Others have complained about it not working or cracked but I didn’t experience any of that with mine. I do wish it was a little larger but it works as it’s supposed to. It is very well made. It comes with a nice hard case for protection.

Similar to InterRapid, not sure how long or durable, this item will be, appears to be well made. Would not trust it for super critical gage work, but for general shop work, appears to be sufficient.

I will be asking for a replacement for this dial indicator, and I will update this review when appropriate.Right to the point: even if you ignore the out-of-the-box bent pointer tip, stress-cracked dial (see the photo), and some of the design annoyances, the bottom line is that it just doesn't work as it should. The mechanism is rough and sticks in multiple positions.I thought I felt some roughness when I first unwrapped the indicator and moved the probe tip, but it wasn't until I rigidly mounted it in a milling machine collet and checked it by moving the table that I could see how rough the movement was. It sticks in several positions at roughly 4-7 mil intervals and you sometimes have to give it a tap to have it spring back.The bent point is minor, but while I was looking at it up close I saw the group of fractures in the clear dial window. These are indications of poor quality control or possibly that it was dropped at the factory (the box is not damaged at all). I might expect this on a $20 dial indicator that I can buy locally and return if necessary until I get a good one, but not an $80 item. Probably half of my machine tooling is imported and while quality does vary I have come to expect better than this.The annoyances that I speak of are in regard to the body design and the accessories. Instead of putting a dovetail on the top of the dial indicator it has a built-in swiveling shaft that appears to be 4mm diameter. Now if I want to mount this in my milling machine spindle to dial in a vise or center a hole I need to switch to a drill chuck or a 4mm collet. A top dovetail would allow me to use other standard size shafts that fit collets of a size that I am likely to be using.The body of the indicator does have dovetails on the front below the dial and the back. The kit includes one 4mm diameter support and one 3/8" diameter support to position anywhere on the dovetails. Two alternate probe tips are included along with the one installed on the dial indicator.

Just received today and tested it out on the inside of a couple of holes and doesn't work. I should be able to take the tip of the indicator and adjust it so that when I spin the indicator, the tip should stay centered but it doesn't. Dial doesn't work either. Waste of money. Will be sending back.
