No. You must make a play. If you have a card that is NOT available (someone used a wild card in that spot), you can trade that card for a new card.

Someone bought us this game and my 6 year old loved it. However, when I bought 3 of them as Christmas gifts for my friends’ children, they came with boxes that were cut at the edges as shown in the photo... :(
