The Jury Is Still Out...
UPDATE: I now have a couple hundred miles on these and they are wonderful. My only complaint is the treads are starting to rip and tear, but they are still usable (See Photos). We will see how much longer the treads will last...UPDATE: I have about 100 miles on these shoes, and I like these a lot! It took about a week for my foot to fully adjust to these, which is more of an issue with my previous boots. I have seen no excessive signs of wear or damage thus far as other reviewers have stated. The laces are a bit long, but I would rather them be long than too short.Currently, I am rating these safety shoes three stars. As I wear them more then I will update this review, and change the rating appropriately. I have worn these for about a week, and have about 40 miles on them thus far, my feet are still adjusting from my Keen's that I have been wearing. I have noticed a few pressure points when I am wearing these, despite having ordered a half size larger than my normal size. If I had ordered a full size larger, I think these pressure points would not be there. Also, once my feet adjust to these, hopefully the pressure points will subside. This is the style of safety shoe that I have been looking for, which is a safety shoe that is first a comfortable shoe, which also provides the protection that I need for work. These have a composite toe, and are Electrically Hazard (EH) rated. I do a lot of standing and walking at work, usually 6 to 12 miles a day, on cement floors, and asphalt surfaces outside. This is primarily an indoor type safety shoe, ideal for warehouse workers. The snug fit, makes the shoe more comfortable, but you will probably need to buy a full size larger than what you normally wear. The portion of the shoe near the ankle, actually goes slightly above the ankle, which I like because it provides a bit more stability than my previous work shoes ( KEEN Utility Men's Albany Composite Toe Work Shoe,Black/Bossa Nova,12 D US ). The Sketchers do not have a shank, steel or otherwise, which allows the shoe to flex like a normal shoe, but if you step on a nail, it will go right through the sole. The memory foam insoles are very comfortable when you aren't standing on them. That is when they feel best. After you have been on your feet awhile, the memory foam compresses and doesn't provide the same amount of cushion. Although they are still comfortable. On the negative side, the tread is really for indoor wear. I wore these in the snow, and there isn't much traction. The treads quickly get packed with snow, ice and salt. Additionally, the cold goes right through the soles on these shoes. I shoveled a small portion of the driveway yesterday for about 15 minutes, and it took two hours for my feet to warm back up with the shoes on.

Platypus feet must read this!
I was born with a blessing....extremely wide feet. My right foot is a 12.5 EEEEE! My left a size 12 EEEE. needless to say there's no such thing short of custom made shoes. Wide feet has been a life long challenge for me. The last pair of regular athletic shoes I had to order size 14EW. The width is right but too long so I was risking the purchase of these Skechers work boots: size 13 EW. Very pleased! The fact that the toe box is intentionally wider than most is what made it a great choice. I love the style, they look nice, the memory foam pad made them fairly comfortable from the start. Some say there is no break in period but I'd disagree. After two full shifts at work they've become my favorite shoe in years!Doing warehouse receiving I had dropped an over sized pallet on my left big toe wearing running shoes........ouch! It's still black. The composite toe is extremely strong and while from what others had said it is a lightweight boot, who cares if your toes don't get crunched. I did think they were a bit heavier than expected but that's the only less than excellent comment from me.I had researched MANY brands, styles and features most of which were in the $110.-$135. range and could hardly believe my eyes at the $65. price on these. While in the Navy we had to were 1/2 high chukka boots that rubbed the ankle and hated them. Also I own a great pair of deep winter tall lug sole boots and I almost made the mistake of getting a regular athletic shoe for work. However on the recommendation of a fellow worker I risked this height of boot and more specifically the Sketchers brand name. The extra ankle support with no ankle rub is great. The fact that they have non skid soles is not lost on me as the winter brings ice on concrete at work. And then there's the value added bonus of having the EH {electrical hazard} rating........awesome. 1. Wide enough for my platypus feet 2. Great height 3. Nice styling 4. Comfort memory foam...Two toes up! 5. Non slip soles 6. Electrical hazard rating 7. Fantastic composite toe, ceramic I believe they said 8. Way better price than many choices with less features 9. Two sets of shoe laces: tan and black value added bonus10. Arrived when it was stated that they'd be here. Conclusion: I give these an enthusiastic 9.5 rating! Can't go wrong for the money.

These are awesome!
I've been buying this brand for years. The weight is much lighter than the old steel toe monsters we used to have to use. These also seem to last longer, with the sole not cracking. The slight arch is great because it feels more secure on ladders. The tongue is one piece for about half of it, keeping more dirt, water, and other debris out.I wasn't sure I'd like the color since I've only had black. Now that I have them, I love it. It makes my giant size 13’s look smaller.Everyone has their own experience. For me, despite fallen arches, these are roomy enough. My prosthetic fits in them. Sizing is accurate. You get an extra pair of laces. With a little preventative maintenance, these can last me years.

I am happy with thus purchase.
I bought these in June for work and riding a motorcycle. Felt kinda stiff at first but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I didn't like the spaghetti shoe strings so I replaced them with miscly nylon boot strings. Big improvement. I'm on my feet alot and over time the support kinda wanes some I an going to install inserts that should take care of that. The tread on these boots are unique when it's muddy out they pick up everything and are hard to clean. These are dry weather boots. Very good for indoor industrial work. I suggest traditional boots for heavy outdoor jobs. Overall I am very happy with them and I hope they last awhile.

Great price arrived quick
Ordered for my husband. He needed something with some ankle support. We both work in a factory with cement floors and walk around 11 kls a night. He has a couple of pairs of more expensive shoes that were comfortable but by the end of the night his feet hurt. Bought a half size larger as he always does with this brand. They fit his orthotics perfectly. His feet no longer hurt. Not the best looking work boots but they work very well.

Poor inner soles
I've had these boots for over a year. Recently the inner soles started to bunch up in the area of the ball of the foot across the whole width of the inner sole causing painful feeling in the sole of my feet. I cannot remove the inner sole to replace it. Too bad as I liked the boots. Looking for another brand.
