As our cat is of a particularly nervous disposition (ex-feral), she doesn't normally like getting inside things from which there's no exit (it took her about a week to venture into a 'plush' type igloo I bought her with a lower front, so I didn't hold out a lot of hope!). However, she went straight into this and sleeps in it every morning. It's stout enough to keep its shape, the high entrance cuts out the draught and, above all, it's pure wool - a huge benefit with a cat that has a problem with itchy eyes, which has definitely improved since she's been spending more time in this than in a synthetic one, or on a synthetic blanket. It's a good size, too, so she can spread out a bit should she choose. It's well worth the money!

We have some work going on in the house, so we wanted something for our 10 yr old cat to go & hide. He has the bedrooms where he can go, & this will help make him feel all the more comfortable.It’s a lovely cat cave, & big enough for him to move around & stretch out some.We had another cat cave which was meant to be a large but compared to this one it’s quite small with no room to turn around or stretch his legs. This one is quite the opposite. He can happily & privately clean himself inside & change positions without a problem.Soon as I opened it the shape of it soon formed & my cat was straight inside, I thought I may have a problem with his lordship not liking it but those worries soon passed when inside playing with the blue ball which came free with the cave.The material is really lovely & gets quite warm inside when he’s snuggled up asleep. I put his fleecy blanket over the top just to cover the opening for him, so he feels more hidden.I usually give it a quick hoover inside on the rare occasions he’s not inside, save getting a build up of hairs. Haven’t washed it yet, trying to leave that for when the warmer weather comes ( if we get any). If your not quite sure about buying this lovely cat cave like I was, it took me awhile to decide but I’m really happy I did purchase in the end & you will be to. 😊😻😻

I thought my cat might ignore this. I'd read all the reviews telling me to steam the cat cave to get it into shape, put dirty clothes in it or put treats in it to entice my cat in. I needn't have worried. He dived straight in and spends most of his time in it. He is one happy cat! The cat cave is well made and looks good. I can't comment on how well it washes because I haven't done that yet. Yes it's not cheap but it's been well worth the cost for me.

I already have one of these cat caves from this company and thought I'd get another one in a different colour for one of my other cats. The one described as aquamarine is not soft blue/green as it looks in the picture; it's a very deep teal color, not what I was after at all. I've returned it and was quickly refunded. The product is good, my cats love the cave, but the colour description and photo of this particular cat cave are misleading.

I honestly cannot think of a better product for a cat. The shape, the gently woolly smell, the function - this is absolute cat paradise. Oreo dived straight in and made himself cozy and comfy instantly. He also loved the little wool ball included as a gift, which is very sweet. Inside, with Oreo’s body heat, the cave becomes nice and toasty, and the curved walls provide organic cushions and pillows for him to rest on. He is totally delighted and I am a bit envious of his perfect comfort inside his cozy little cave of quietude! I would strongly and seriously urge any cat parent to hurry up and buy one. I should have bought this years ago!

Our cat LOVES the cave and immediately got inside of it. She also loves the wool ball that’s kindly included.She often snoozes in there, sometimes makes biscuits (it holds up very well to claw biscuits!) and also loves to hunt from inside of it. We sometimes call it “fishing” as we can dangle the cat toy outside of the entrance and see if we can catch a kitty coming out of the cave.I did use a steamer to help ease out the initial creasing, but I think putting it in the bathroom whilst you’re showering would do the same thing.It did have a reasonably strong smell of wool when we first opened it, which was very mild and inoffensive and it immediately drew our cat over for a sniff and inspection.As you can see from the photo, the grey model is most definitely a cool tone grey. I wish there was a more honey/beige option too.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had a few little cat homes but not one that is an instant success. I like the fact it’s a completely natural product and perhaps that is why it was instantly attractive to my cat. Only first few hours but really fab so far and looks much better than most as it’s a natural product. I bought the large and it seems to be the right size for my cat. Don’t usually write reviews but felt I should as it was such an instant hit!

I like natural materials, good quality, the ultimate test is if our cat would use it. Sleeps in it every night.

I am super happy with this merino wool cat cave! I got the Large size for my 10lb Bengal cat, and it is more than big enough for him. He immediately took to it: the 1rst day he enjoyed playing and rolling around with it using the felt ball that came with the cave, and his other toys. Today because it is a cold and rainy day, he snuggled into it and promptly fell asleep. I think he feels safe and warm in there, which makes me happy. I will be getting a puppy soon so the idea was for my cat to feel safe in his little cave whenever he needed to become invisible. I love the texture and thickness of the wool, it feels thick and durable and warm; gorgeous natural fibres. The design is nice. I have already recommended this to several people. If you have a cat that is 10lb or less, you can totally get away with the Small version.

The media could not be loaded. I have two cats. One was once a stray feral kitten and one we adopted. The adopted Siamese mix is wild and loves hiding in everything, especially boxes. Ocean, the jumpy stray turned sweet floof, hates crawling into anything. He’s never had any interest in boxes or tunnels, etc.So I got this bed for our spider monkey of a cat (the Siamese), but guess who’s using it? Ocean, the stray. It keeps them warm at night when we go to bed with the door closed and turn down the air. I’m happy they are both using it as it was costly. It’s sturdy in a strange way. It’s meant to look and feel like a natural element. It’s very easy to assemble, you just fluff it up. It’s very thick wool. I love the modern color.

The pictures were taken right out of the dryer. Bottom line, this item came exactly as described (bags taped shut with product tags properly attached) and our two cats LOVE them! Our 5-year-old cats are 11 lbs. each and the medium is perfectly sized for curling up on the bottom with room to spare. The domed top allows the cats to stand up fully, stretch and turn around without issue. I measured the opening and both are 7" in diameter... completely adequate for hopping in and out. The beds have a soft natural wool smell (not at all like a barn, or goats). Both beds are beautifully made and I can see them lasting many years. I also feel that the price is very reasonable for a hand-made product of this size (to those complaining about the cost, do you have any idea how long felting takes?). I'm super glad that I ignored the negative reviews and took a chance!Now to address some of the things others were unhappy about:1. This is an individually HAND-MADE product, made from raw wool. If you are expecting the one you receive to look exactly like a picture and for every bed to be exactly the same, you may be disappointed. I ordered two, and they vary slightly in specific shape, colour and stripe pattern... just like natural wool on a sheep and according to the vision of the maker... which, for me, only contributes to their charm. If you want cookie-cutter perfection, don't order this bed.2. The beds come flattened and very tightly wrapped for the sake of shipping economy. The creases are comparable to clothing ordered on-line. They do look awkward when you expand them, but they are wool and I trust the folds will relax and smooth out over time and with use. To those who said the beds will never reshape without a steamer they are wrong. I simply misted mine with a spray bottle and threw them in the dryer on low heat for a half hour. They came out beautifully with the creases much less visible and all of the loose fibers knocked off into the lint screen. You could also use the shower to steam them, pack with a towel and then air dry. Just sitting with cats jumping in and out they have already reshaped further to look more and more like the pictures. If you expect to pull the bed out of a box fully expanded and picture perfect, don't order this one.3. Soft is in the eye of the beholder. These beds are lovely and soft to the touch (no extra cushion required inside... though there is room for a small one)... not like a cashmere pashmina, but just like a Scottish siwash sweater (or wool dryer balls)... like my grandma used to knit. This is made from RAW wool. If you've never experienced 100% natural wool, this may not feel 'soft' to you. It's not as soft as wool that has been carded and spun into yarn, and it is the raw wool that gives the bed structure. If it felt as soft as cashmere, it would not stand up. If you expect it to be soft like your favourite sweater, don't order this bed.4. This product is made of raw WOOL. While likely not difficult to clean, you have to respect that it is WOOL and clean accordingly. If you wouldn't do it to your favourite 100% natural wool sweater, don't do it to this bed. Extreme heat (water/drying) will likely cause it to shrink and alter its shape.5. Finally, cats are very individual and can be finicky. This bed is made for cats who appreciate a hidey-hole (boxes/paper bags) and who like to sleep all curled/cuddled up. If your cat doesn't like hiding in boxes, and feels safer being able to see all around, or likes heights this may not be a good fit. Also, if your cat is territorial and not accepting or is fearful of other pets/animals, the natural scent of this bed (while not at all strong, it does smell like wool) may be problematic to them, as they may perceive the bed as a 'critter' in their territory. Any cats peeing in this bed are not mistaking it for a litter box, they are marking territory. You can counter this by getting your own scent all over it first (stuff it with clothes you've worn and leave it for a couple of days), or even by washing it and drying it in the sun before you allow your cats to use it. You can also brush your cat and sprinkle some of their own hair into it. And, if your cat has unfortunately peed in the bed, there are incredibly good enzyme products that will completely eliminate the odour.
