Sony UBP-X700 MULTIREGION Blu-ray Player Bundle with Blade Runner The Final Cut Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray Disc

I was torn between this and the x800m2. Ultimately the £100 difference in price made up my mind. I really wanted multiregion bluray most of all, the 4K and streaming are nice additions though. I’ve been very impressed by the ease of selection of different regions and it’s reassuring to be able to update firmware without losing functionality. The other most noticeable thing compared to my old bluray player is the speed of loading. Even Criterion discs are speedy. The streaming apps seem to load and play faster that I am used to as well. Altogether delighted with the player and can heartily recommend it.

Have a large collection of US & UK DVDs and both regions work flawlessly. Very happy with purchase

Speedy delivery, well packaged and comes with extended 2 year warranty. Picture and sound quality are excellent. Comes preset to region A so all my discs play without resetting area code (most region B discs are not locked so will play in any player). Remote a bit sparse but got the basic controls you need. Time will tell on reliability.

To my cost I didn't know that there's 2 types of Dolby Vision.. the type Sony use and they type Panasonic & LG use. THEY'RE NOT COMPATIABLE with each other. If you watch a 4K blu ray on this player and select Dolby Vision in the settings to On. The Dolby Vision logo will pop up then the screen will go black but you'll hear the movie audio in the background. So only buy this player if you already own a Sony 4K TV capable of Dolby Vision. If you've a different brand of TV? Buy a Panasonic 450 or 820 4K player instead.
