can the bottom compartments be removed separately to tip out and empty?

Yes they can - two separate'buckets'.

What size of bin bag does the top bin take

The top bin takes 40lt and the 2 bottom take 25lt bags

Does the top compartment have a removable inner bin?

No, the inside of the top compartment is fixed plastic. There is a removable liner ring which holds the bag in place. We use 50l refuse bags as they fit well and leave enough room to tie once removed. The bottom compartment has 2 removable bins with carry handles.

Could this be attached to a door?

I can’t recall any hinges. It’s huge so if you are thinking inside the cupboard it won’t work. It’s almost the height of my cupboard but does not look awkward in kitchen.
