Easy setup: 1. Before plugging the wireless network adapter into the usb port, please FIRST install drivers via MINI CD disc, or download driver to install. Once you've run the software, you can simply insert the adapter to get connected. 2. If your computer does not have a cd rom, we also provide a small piece of paper inside. The driver download link is provided on the paper. Or you can scan the QR code to get the driver link.

Works out of the box on windows 10.
Used this to upgrade an old netgear USB dongle I've been using since 1924. I'm using it on a windows 10 Desktop that fights 700 other device signals to get to the hub located downstairs. It was getting so bad that one time my connection dropped, I went down to check the dog hadn't peed on the router again and found my signal sat on the stairs with his head in his hands. I patted him on his back gently, took him by the hand and led him out to the shed..... 24 hours later I plugged this thing in and i was back in buisness. The 5Ghz signal lasted about 2 hours before i heard it scream "Christ!!! How many connected devices do 3 children actually need" before it refused to connect. I'm guessing it was a power thing though since as soon as I plugged it into a powered usb hub and gave it the obligatory cup of tea it was raring to go and no problems at all since then. It does work with no problems with windows drivers but it took me 2 minutes to find the official Realtek drivers from the website in case I wanted to be that guy. Overall I'm happy with its performance but, since I was previously using a dongle that hacked up phlegm when I asked it to download a chrome extension, I probably could of got away with ordering all my downloads from UBER eats and still doubled my connection speed.

Great WiFi adapter, easy to use
First off if you don't have a CD/DVD drive like a lot of people these days, make sure you download the drivers before this arrives. There was no slip of paper or URL in my package as mentioned in the description. The internal components are from Realtek - so search Google for 'Realtek RTL8812BU' and you'll find the correct drivers on the Realtek website. Once you've done that, install the drivers, then when the adapter arrives, you'll just be able to plug it in and use it.The speeds are decent, not as fast as my PCIe card, right now I'm connected to my router at 342mbit, as opposed to the 685mbit on my PCIe card, and 572mbit on my MacBook and phone. So it's decent enough to handle most fast broadband connections. Obviously it depends on how your WiFi network is set up but the numbers should give you a decent comparison to more expensive equipment.Overall it's a good piece of kit, and super handy to have around in case it's needed.👇🏻 If you find this review helpful, please click the helpful button below!

Brilliant little device !
I can't believe I didn't try one of these sooner. Forget about wifi extenders and repeaters, you just need one of these. Plug it in, load the driver if necessary (small disc in the box, very easy to do). If you are using it on a laptop or a desktop with built in wifi, you will have to go into your wireless settings and disable the internal wifi and switch it to this unit, external wifi. To get the best out of it, make sure your router supports 5Ghz. On 2.4Ghz, not sure what difference this unit will make, but on 5Ghz, I am getting the same wifi speeds as when connected on the LAN. Kids love them, much improved wifi speeds, if used correctly. Distance of transmission is also much better. I use one on a pc in the garage for when I am on the cross trainer, and before I bought this I always had buffering issues when streaming video. Not any more, great value for money. I recommend !

Actually connects to 2 and 5g signals
This item was delivered to me about 45mins ago and due to the fact that installation instructions are so small you need a massive magnifying glass to read them it took my approx. 30 minutes to install it,but once I had it was working perfectly.Hopefully this will continue and its not a 5min wounder.This is a lot better than other types I have recently tried that promised 2 and 5g connection and I could only get the 2g.I have just bought another one of these for my grandson and he is delighted with it.

Not bad at all
Bought this for my lad's Windows 10 desktop, due to an unreliable Devolo set-up. I tried the 'plug and play' approach first time and, for a short while at least, it seemed to work ok. But then the USB started randomly disconnecting, so I followed the proper installation instructions using the supplied disc, and I used another USB port (2 changes, not very scientific!). Anyway, it seems to be working well now, with a reliable download speed greater than 50 Mbps.

Was quite worried about ordering this. Needed wifi adapter as new PC surprisingly didn't come with wifi (Router on ground floor & PC on 1st floor). Not being very experienced in these things I did a bit of research and went for this one as it had good reviews. It arrived quickly and upon reading instruction booklet was a bit confused as to order in which to proceed - front cover showed easy steps 1-3 to put adapter into usb port then install drivers & then went on to say install drivers 1st. I then read what other reviewers had said..... Install drivers 1st then plug in adapter. I took a deep breath and went for it and it was so easy to do, took just a few minutes and works perfectly. Very happy & would happily recommend.

Problem solver
After constant issues in regards to poor WiFi strength around our home, I decided to purchase this item and was very satisfied. WiFi connectivity is a thing of the past in our home now and whilst struggling with setting it up in the beginning, it definitely became worth it. With delivery being as quick as it was, I can't help but recommend this product!
