Easy As Pie: The Essential Pie Cookbook for Every Season and Reason

I have never baked a pie before!
I have never made a pie before that did not come out of a box. After looking over this pie cookbook I decided to try the goat cheese tomato quiche. Well, I started late in day, so used a frozen crust (hastily thawed). After cooking this quiche in what appeared to be a disastrous frozen crust, my husband pronounced this the best quiche he'd ever had; (he has eaten many quiches since he had a friend who owned a quiche restaurant). So, my conclusion is that this recipe is truly foolproof!! It tasted wonderful and had a lovely texture. My second pie was the Dutch Apple with raisins. It too was a huge success. We now plan to share this book with some Christian friends at a Mennonite bakery near our home here in Missouri. We thank you Saura Madani for sharing your gifts and talents with us!

Not What I Was Hoping For
I was unimpressed by this cookbook. There are not enough pictures for my liking and I didn't find the recipes to be unique enough to justify keeping this among my many cookbooks.

can teach an old dog new tricks
Real down to earth easy to follow pie book. I have made the usual strawberry rhubarb pie or apple pie. But the bottom of my strawberry rhubarb was too soupy added more minute tapioca but didn't like the end result too thick & pasty filling. This cookbook has the best tastings apple pie, hate tasteless filling I would add more cinnamon and nutmeg not here, hers calls for allspice too! oh yah thats what was missing. I added cardomon to my apple pie its a Scandinavian spice used in pastry or French bread. So this book opens the door to tweak your own pies.

The clarity of the instructions was most helpful.
I really liked this author’s writing style. It was clear and down to earth. It was not intimidating, but rather conversational as if your next door neighbor popped in to tell you exactly how she makes a mouth watering pie.I also liked the numbered step-by-step instructions. They are easy to follow and explicit. For example, the information about how long a crust should be chilled. I also appreciated all the practical tips such as adding fresh herbs to crusts and how long pies can be frozen. The book contains a nice variety of recipes. It was convenient that they were organized by seasons with spring/summer, fall/winter and anytime pies.

Book I received has NOTHING to do with pies?!
I don't if the printers got something mixed up or what, but I received the book 'Easy as Pie' by Saura Madani but when I open it, the first page is 'How to Cook for Beginners' by Gwyn Novak that goes into cooking everything BUT pie?! WTH?! This has NEVER happened to me before when ordering from Amazon and I've ordered thousands of dollars in books over the years. Will be returning this immediately.

A book for anyone who enjoys baking
This is an absolutely wonderful book and anyone who likes to bake, should have one. I found this book to be very easy to read and follow directions. I loved all the general information that was provided at the beginning and what influenced the author to go into her profession. I feel that the recipes are easy enough that even the occasional baker could follow. As I read through the various recipes, I found myself wanting to try each and every one.

I can finally make pies!
I love this cookbook! I’ve always loved to bake, but I was never any good at making pies. This book makes it so easy though, and the recipes are so delicious . I think I’ve already made like 5 or 6 pies so far.

Great mix of classics and new twists
So far, the recipes in this book have hit the mark. The instructions are easy to follow and I haven’t had a flop yet. I liked this cookbook so much that I gave it out for Christmas gifts this year.
