Review: Silky, bleed-proof pages. Slim profile. No margins. More cost-effective than at first glance. - These are the best notebooks I've ever bought. The pages are slim and silky, but they feel substantial when writing on them. The paper absorbs many types of ink with no bleed through, even when using highlighters. While the notebooks are only 30 sheets (60 pages), because they don't bleed through, I enjoy using them and can make use of every page. They also have no margins, meaning that I can make use of much more of the page than normal and they have smaller ruling than most composition notebooks making them more cost effective than you might first assume. I'm only halfway through the semester and I'm not halfway through a single one of these notebooks. They lay flat, or you can fold them over if you prefer although that might leave a mark on the cover. I usually avoid bound notebooks because they usually don't fold over well and often don't fit on my desk, but these don't have that problem. However, spiral bound notebooks usually start to unwind and I pull out the spiral within half a semester. Because these are small and flat bound, but they make use of the full page due to no margins, I can fit them on a small desk with my computer out, fold them over, and don't have to deal with a spiral binding. I usually beat up my notebook covers, but these are lasting with only minor curling on the corners. I'm sure that could be rectified by buying a clear plastic cover of the same size. The colors are vibrant and make it easy to see which subject's notebook I'm pulling out of my bag. If you overpack your backpack or are a commuter to campus, I highly recommend buying these. because they are lightweight, slim, and a joy to use. I'll be happy to display these on my bookshelf and pull them out again to reference my notes in the future.
Review: Great slim notebooks - recommend buying the Kokuyo notebook cover with these - I absolutely love these notebooks! For $10, you get five notebooks in purple, blue, green, golden yellow, and pink, each containing 30 pages (=60 pages front and back). I'd say that the ruling is very similar to college-ruled folder paper. One might say they're expensive, given that you can easily buy a composition book for 50 cents during back-to-school sales, but I just adore how slim these notebooks are, and the quality of the paper is amazing. If you've ever written on a general black composition book in pen, you know how easily ink bleeds through the thin paper. Well, not with these notebooks! There's a little bit of show-through, but no bleeding unless you leave your pen on the paper for too long and end up creating ink blots. You can easily write on both sides of the paper in ink, which is really good since there's only 30 pages compared to a composition book's 100 pages. The paper is also nice and smooth. Except for the very first and last pages, the notebooks open to a relatively flat position, or at least flatter than a composition book can open up. I was initially hesitant to buy these books because of how little pages each notebook has, but I jumped for it when I realized I have trouble finishing a standard composition book. When I started college, I switched from taking notes in composition books to taking notes on loose folder paper. I found it too annoying to bring a separate composition book for each class when I knew that at the end of the semester, each book would end up only 40-50% complete, depending on the class. Lugging 2-3 comp. books each day was also tiring when combined with a laptop and textbooks. With these notebooks, I feel as though I won't have that same problems as before. Each notebook is very lightweight and slim, and it barely takes up any space. I did purchase the Kokuyo notebook cover, which helps tremendously in keeping the corners from folding in my backpack. I know others have had issues with the notebooks being damaged in transport, but I was lucky for that not to be the case. I think it might be because I had others items in my order, which took the impact instead. So maybe I'd recommend buying other items to be shipped with your notebooks? Since using this textbook in class, I've found that, for me, a chapter's worth of notes in my economics class takes up only one page (front and back). Of course, my handwriting is on the smaller side, so I'd factor in your handwriting size when debating whether or not to purchase these notebooks for class. I'm thinking of buying the 6mm notebooks simply because I'd like the extra lines per page, but these are really good if you like writing with college-ruled paper.

## Features

- 5 Colors: A 5-color pack of Light Blue, Light Green, Pink, Purple and Yellow notebook, which is convenient to use by color-coding each subject.
- Dotted Ruled Lines: Dots arranged at equal intervals on the ruled lines make it possible to write beautifully. And it's easy to draw charts and straight lines.
- Kokuyo Original Base Paper: FSC-certified paper and covers made of recycled paper pulp. Make sure you have a comfortable and satisfying writing experience, and the original base paper is resistant to bleeding and made with acid-free paper that is suitable for long-term storage.
- Wireless Binding: Solidifies the spine with glue instead of thread, so it can be opened flat and not easy to fall apart. This makes every page easy to write and read.
- Tearing Resistant: The spine cloth is made with a special film laminated to the surface of the paper so it is resistant to tearing and abrasion. And you can easily write a title on the spine cloth with a ball pen, which is very convenient when you take out the desired notebook on the shelf.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is it worth the 13 $ istead of compostition notebooks that cost .99$?**
A: The $13 pays for 4 notebooks, I think; not just one. But not sure if it's worth the price diff. Depends on what you want. I found it worthwhile, because I like the pliable cover; the sheen on the paper; the narrow rule; and having smaller notebooks, rather than filling half of a whole bunch. Hope this helps somewhat.

**Q: Will fountain pens work on this paper?**
A: Use of the fountain pen is no problem

**Q: Is it considered college ruled?**
A: Hi -- I just compared my Kokuyo to college rule, and Kokuyo is slightly narrower, smaller, so not quite as much room for writing. Also has tiny speck marks that make it easier to write Asian characters, but I don't find that distracting at all. The paper finish is wonderful, and you can write on both sides, no bleed-through. Expensive, but I love them.

**Q: Is the paper white or colored?**
A: The paper is white.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ideal for Bullet Journal
*by R***E on November 1, 2014*

Ordered these in the candy-colored 5 pack to use for a Bullet Journal. They fit my needs perfectly, and at $1.80 a piece are at a pricepoint that offers both quality and affordability. Now that I know how much I like them, I'll be purchasing this 10 pack. Pros (for bullet journal use) ~Top of each page has space for page number, date, and title ~Thick, smooth paper is a delight to write and draw on. Most pens will not bleed through. ~Nerd ruled: 6 mm is slightly smaller than college ruled, and the horizontal lines have regularly spaced dots allowing the paper to function as graph paper without the visual clutter. ~Same size as an iPad or Composition notebook. ~Very slender, about 3 mm thick. I find that this notebook slips into the side of my purse and takes up virtually no space. ~Binding allows writing right up to the gutter or even across it. ~30 pages is roughly 2 months of usage for my purposes with this size bullet journal. ~2-3 notebooks fit well into the Koyuko Systemic cover, creating a low-cost Midori style option. ~Notebook can be folded back on itself if you need to write in it without a firm surface. ~Low cost, available in bulk. Cons (for bullet journal use) ~Floppy because of the thin size if not in a Systemic cover. ~Square corners instead of rounded - a tiny nitpick.
