My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the Fall, and she is pretty psyched about her new school. I started looking for backpacks that not only has a design she would like, but also one that would be a good fit for her size. For as long as I remember, doggies were her favorite animal. However, ever since her little sister also started showing an interest in doggies, she decided kitties were now her favorite animals. So of course, when I saw the adorable kitty backpack, I had to get it for her!!! It was meant to be a surprise just before the beginning of the school year. But we came home one day and she saw an Amazon box by the door and wanted to help me open it. When she opened the box and saw the backpack she shrieked with delight, and wore her backpack everywhere the rest of the day (INSIDE the house)!About the backpack --This is a truly unique backpack in terms of design. I have not seen any other backpacks like these on the market -- this is the only one with 3-dimensional design details (i.e. hairbow and ears). Some of the other designs have tentacles (octopus), wings (butterfly and airplane), fins (shark), horns (unicorn and dinosaur), and so forth! Although I easily settled on the kitty, I actually had a hard time deciding which one to get because they were all so cute!Features: I like that the main compartment has a zipper to contain contents inside the bag should it get tossed around or drop on the ground. I also like the little pockets on the side and in the front of the bag for holding things like hand sanitizer, sunblock sticks, and/or toys. Some of the reviews complained that the side pockets are not big enough for water bottles, but I had never even considered putting them there in the first place (don’t they belong in the lunch box? ;p). The top handle is important so that the backpack can be hung and is off the floor at home!!!One of the most important features of the backpack that I like is that it is ergonomic! It has thick padded shoulder straps and hangs horizontally to distribute the weight evenly. However, I don’t expect my daughter to be hauling heavy books and binders so this is just the right size to hold some school supplies, toys, and library books for a couple of years. It is very well made and looks to be very durable to last till then.

I got this for my 3 yo son and he loved it! I also got the matching lunchbox, which is absolutely adorable (see my other review on it). The quality of the backpack is really good and durable. This is important because there's no doubt my son throws this around when he brings it to preschool and most importantly, I wanted something that could last.I wanted something different and when I saw this, I knew he would love it. When he first got it, he would wear it and go around our living room pretending to be a shark. The size of the bag sits well on him, not too big or too small. There's a good amount of room for him to bring items to and from to school, including his show and tell, his daily work, his jacket, and his favorite stuffed animal. When I got the backpack, I saw that the Bixbee company donates a schoolbag and supplies to a kid for every backpack they sell, how neat is that? Definitely worth supporting in my book and will look to buy more for my nieces and nephews in the future.

This backpack is cute and usable in everyway. The only reason I give 4 starts instead of 5 is that it's missing the chest strap that buckles in front of the chest to prevent the shoulder straps from slipping.

I usually avoid buying products like this sight unseen, but I was set on finding my daughter a unique backpack that wouldn’t get confused among the rest at daycare. I could not be more pleased with the quality of construction and materials, and was truly delighted when I opened the package.She’s 2, but she’s the size of a 3 year old (36+ inches), and the strap fit is just a trifle large. I don’t mind having the room to grow, and she can still easily wear it.Munchkin 360-style cups fit easily in the side pocket, which I didn’t expect from the reviews here. If you’re still using toddler cups, you should be fine.If I had ANY wish, it would just be for the primary compartment to be large enough to hold her sheet and blanket for her daycare cot—that gets a little too tight to bother trying. Still, it’s perfect for her lunch, hat, gloves, and other little supplies, though. We love it!

I was worried after I set my order , reading other reviews saying ( folders & waterbottles not fitting) made me a bit upset thinking the backpack wouldnt be used for school when my son picked it out himself ... Once we recived the shark backpack my son's waterbottle fit perfectly along with his everday folder. I am thrilled to drop off my son in the backpack he picked out himself. It made my son completely happy, it's lightweight and the perfect size. Overall we are extremely happy with this purchase . Perfect for tk or kinder !! Can't wait to order one for my daughter

It's really cute and big enough to carry plenty of things. Tablet, head phones, coloring book, crayons, bag of toys, sunglasses, sippy cup.The wide and short back is a little easier for toddlers to carry.
