I recently moved to Colorado from Florida and lots of my friends had these but I always thought they were pretty pricey so didn't get one. Then we were going on a trip to the SW - Arches National Park, Zion, Grand Canyon, etc - so I got one and I am SO glad that I did! I only wish I had gotten one sooner. The bladder holds a ton of water - it was enough for both my husband and I on hiking trips - and the pack surprisingly holds a ton of other great stuff. I would fill the bladder and load the other pockets with two of those 1 Liter water bottles and a bunch of granola, my chapstick, etc. It was also great for having a place to put our keys and wallets, etc while hiking instead of having to carry them. My husband did say there is another brand that holds even MORE water and is a bigger pack - our driver at Zion had one, its a black pack but I can't remember the name. He was telling me it has some military design or something like that. But I am personally VERY happy with my Camelbak. It is not heavy at all and being someone who has to drink water constantly it was perfect. It made our trip SO much more enjoyable.The only complaint I have is that the water that sits in the hose part gets hot so the initial sip is warm water, ugh. It would be nice if there was a cover or some kind of insulation on it to keep it cool.We also think this is a great idea for anyone that works outside in the heat. My husband is an electrician and works outside frequently and we think it would be great to have on jobsites. Love the suspension system for airflow. A good size for day outings, The bright yellow rain fly is great for rainy muddy days. Reservoir is a big 3 liters. I love that the hose is detachable from the reservoir. So much easier to fill it and add powers and such to the water w/o the hose attached. Pockets every where. I like the cinch straps and the easily accessible pocket they control. I put anything I need to get to fast in there like rain gear. Straps are comfy. I had a 23 year old Blowfish before this. Great upgrade. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best day packs on the market *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2014* I got this as a replacement for my decade-old MULE (the camo version with no expandable pocket), and it has been excellent. I've tried out similar Osprey packs as well, and just don't get the same comfort out of them. I use this for long day hikes. It fits all my emergency gear, basic navigation tools, a little bit of food (I don't pack a banquet - typically just cliff bars and trail mix. If you want lots of food, you might be pushing it as far as space in this pack depending on how much other gear you throw in), and space in the expandable section for a light jacket. I have not yet had to use the rain cover, so I can't really comment on that. It was all enough to keep me safe when I got stuck on a Nevada mountainside overnight this spring.Potential improvements I can think of:- a more robust waist strap - and with more substantial waist pockets.- MOLLE webbing (I miss that from my old MULE). I'd also like some MOLLE or other webbing on the straps to attach my little camera pouch to.- A longer chest strap.
