SwiftCam G3S 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal for GoPro Hero 3, 3+ Hero 4 Camera

Perhaps it because I use the GoPro Karma Grip which is solid and performs amazing that I have such a negative impression of this Gimbal. The SwiftCam G3S is a cheap stabilizer and performs like one. Out of the box I was getting horrible horizontal tilt and very loose inconsistent control. The stabilization is not very fine tuned but it does take out larger shakes when it's working. I notified Swiftcam of my experience and they were very responsive in sending me out a link to update the firmware and videos to calibrate the Gimbal. I followed the directions to the letter but unfortunately, there has not been much of an improvement. I'm giving two stars because the company was responsive to my inquiries and you do get some stabilization as long as you move VERY slowly and treat the Gimbal with kid gloves. Also, there is virtually no noise from this Gimbal. It is Very quiet, which is a plus. I have every model of GoPro camera and tested this Gimbal with a Hero3+ Black so that I didn't have to use the included balance weight. If you want buttery smooth stabilization with a sturdy Gimbal you can trust, just spend the money and get a Hero5 or Hero4 and the Karma Grip. You'll end up saving money in the long run, especially if you want to upgrade to future GoPro cameras as the harness for the camera is interchangeable to adapt to different GoPro cameras. GoPro will also be releasing a harness for the Hero5 Session this summer.

This will get a 5 star rating because it was accurately advertised and inexpensive. Albeit a 2014-2015 model and there have been advances with the technology, the price can't be beat for what it does. There was a note from the seller taped on the box that stated they opened it in order to make sure the firmware was up-to-date. I think that this was due to all of the issues people posted about having difficulty with the product out of the box. I'm perfectly OK with this as they ensured that it was a working unit, verified/updated the Swiftcam to the latest software update, and noted it with a message on the package.This was also the previous model as Swiftcam now focuses more on an updated mobile phone gimbal with an additional attachment for a GoPro. This also shows the direction of smartphones taking the place of action cameras in the current market.The first time I attached the GoPro Hero 3+ to the Swiftcam G3s, I did it upside-down. Once I realized this, I reattached it and it began to work well.I plan to update this review in the coming weeks. I want to note that the seller I purchased from doesn't have the G3s in stock at the moment. Since this model is two years old, there may be some time before new or used stock becomes available.

I absolutely loved this thing until it stopped working. Purchased it for a vacation to Europe and was using it daily, storing it carefully. The features are very well thought out and the ergonomics are great. This all stopped mattering as soon as it decided to have a seizure when we were at the Vatican. I started working again normally, then started glitching out in Paris. This thing needs some serious fixing and I would gladly pay more for it if it actually worked 100% of the time. Again, I really loved this gimbal and was really happy until it stopped working in less than 3 weeks. In the process of returning it now. :(

A great price for a three axis gimbal. It works exceptionally well, the quarter mile road the highway to my house is very bumpy and I tried out the gimbal at 15 mph along the quarter mile road and while the film showed the car bouncing up and down, the surroundings were rock steady. Easy to calibrate, can’t comment on battery life as I haven’t used it too much yet, although I use rechargeable AAA batteries in mine.

Received this and out of the box it did not work. I followed all the instructions for calibration but nothing seemed to work. I searched for firmware updates and could not find anywhere. Ruined my plans to video my vacation with my family. Complete disappointment with the product. Thanks for nothing.

Most excellent. Gets a little wonky sometimes, and needs to be manually reset, but overall excellent product for the price.

This is not for hero 5 or 6! I wish they would have told me this, but they did not.

So far I am thoroughly impressed with this unit. There is no noise, it's pretty easy to setup and if you need to tweak it you can. Turns on very quickly, the controls are good. 4 AAA's are cool, however I'm sure it'll burn through them pretty quickly. The video is incredibly smooth. It comes with a counter weight for the Hero4 which is cool. You need to keep in mind of the limitation of certain angles. Packaging means nothing me, but they tried on this unit and it's good. Pretty much the only thing I'd like is less of a plastic feel on the handle. But that's not enough to take away anything from the rating.Update: Total piece of garbage with no support. I tried calibrating it several times. There's no info from the manufacture and now it's discontinued. The gimbal isn't level and no matter what I do I can't get it to level. Buy something else.

The gimble feels cheap and the power light did not illuminate, DJS Commerce palm you off to the manufacturer, The manufacturer ignores any correspondence, so a waste of money, my Feiyu G4 is much better quality than this cheap rubbish.
