Great upgrade over television's internal speakers
We have a slightly older Toshiba LCD TV on top of the fridge in our kitchen, and the internal speakers became intermittent. It's part of a bigger problem with the TV because simultaneously the TV became very difficult to power-up as well. Anyway, instead of junking a TV that still operates well enough, albeit without sound, I decided to add some speakers. I found a great price on these on Amazon and pulled the trigger.Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the construction of the speakers. They are weighty and solid feeling - not at all like most el cheapo computer speakers. Installing these was easy. The TV itself does not have audio outs, so I hooked up the 1/8" male jack of the speakers to a 1/8" female / RCA stereo male Y-cable, and then that to the RCA audio output jacks of our Comcast (subsequently switched to U-Verse) cable box.Wow! Absolutely great TV sound. It's a huge improvement over the internal speakers. I'm actually kind of glad they broke, because I didn't know what I was missing. I set the volume knob on the speakers to about 70% and then use the cable box's internal volume control as a master. Works like a charm. I also occasionally yank the mini-jack out of the Y-cable RCA adapter (power off the speakers first, of course) and hook up my Zune dock (yes, I'm one of the 4 people left in the US who still uses a Zune mp3 player) to use the speakers for music. They sound fantastic for that too!

Doesn't work
I am very disappointed as I was shipped a European version. There was a cheap looking adapter that came along with the speakers although they were bundled separately from the actual package. I tried using the speakers with the adapter and it would still not work so I do not know if the problem is in the adapter or in the speakers themselves, either way I do not see why anyone should buy this as it is only shipped to the US but it is obviously made for Europeans.

Great Sound Out of 2.0 Speakers!
If you're looking for great sound out of computer speakers without a subwoofer, seriously consider the Logitech Z520 speakers. The Z520s produce solid, crisp audio in most rooms except for large ones. The sound is very pleasing. The speakers are heavy at 2-1/2 pounds each. Just one volume control to deal with.As good as the sound is, there are some drawbacks. There is no subwoofer with this system. Yes, you'll have some bass, but not the booming type found in larger systems. The other negative is that there are no bass/treble controls found in more expensive systems.Hookup is a breeze. All the cables are hardwired, so you need to:1. Connect the left speaker wire to the right speaker2. Connect the line-out cable to your PC or Mac.3. Plug in the AC power adapter.4. Turn on the speaker with the volume control. With 26 watts of power, you should be able to fill most rooms with the system's 360º sound. Without the bass/treble controls, don't pay more than $100 for this system. You'll get great audio with booming sound from these speakers. You don't need to pay $150 or more for speakers with great sound, the Logitech Z520s should do the trick!

Decent speakers if you do not want anything special.
Speakers look great. Sound is quality is good and loud. The only issue is that when playing movies sometimes (and this might depend on the quality of the movie) speech is not that clear even at high volumes. Music and other sounds gets louder as you turn up the volume but speech does not get as loud.

What you should know
1) The speakers are not labeled Logitech. In fact, the word Logitech is not found anywhere on the speakers, the box, or the materials included. They look just like the photo but instead of the word Logitech, you see the word "LifeSize". At first, I assumed I had been sent the wrong thing except that I noticed the speakers looked identical to what I ordered. I did an internet search and found that Logitech acquired LifeSize Communications. I assume then, they are repackaging stuff with that name.2) The speakers look like the picture on the Amazon page except they have a removable snap off black screen-like cover. You have to remove the cover for them to look like the picture. The cover appears to just be cosmetic for those who prefer that look instead of seeing the round hole in the middle of the front of each speaker. I don't know that the cover makes any difference in the sound.3) There was no Quick Start guide in the box....only a safety guide in some foreign language. They are plug and play, so I don't see that instructions are needed.4) They sound GREAT. At half-volume, they covered the entire first floor of my house with no distortion.5) The long cord between speakers is a good feature. If you place them far apart, you have surround sound.6) The "con" is that the cord from the main unit that plugs into your laptop earphone jack could be a bit longer. But, as far as I can tell, it is about the same length as all speakers.7) I will be using them with a PowerPoint presentation at a conference in a couple of weeks and will update this review then and tell you how the sound performed in the room.

Great small speakers
I'm very happy with this purchase. I didn't expect these speakers to blow my hair back, and they don't, but for their size and price they're brilliant. I bought them mainly as a substitute for a home stereo system. Without turning the volume up to more than 50 percent, they can fill my one-bedroom apartment with nice sound -- even though the cords are kind of short, so they can only sit about 5 feet apart. As day-to-day workhorse speakers for my computer, they're more than adequate, and each one only takes up about as much surface area as CD case.UPDATE: After about 3 years of light usage (meaning, never being turned up high enough for the neighbors to hear) I heard a loud POP! and the speakers have been completely silent ever since. I'm going to do a little research to see if something I'd like much better has come along since I purchased these, but I would buy the exact same set again -- especially since the price has dropped about 30 percent since my original purchase!

Why did I even bother?
I actually have no idea if these speakers are any good or not. So I'm not going to say if you should buy them or not. Thats not why I'm reviewing this. If you do choose to buy this product MAKE SURE YOU DON'T BUY THEM FROM D4W. I have been charged over £20 for postage of these. I bought a pc case for slightly more and there wasn't postage. Now £20 for postage would have been ok had they arrived. I placed the order on 26th of July to this day I've still not got them. I hope this negative review won't assuade any one against the product only one of the companies selling them.
