I've covered a few of the hue devices in my reviews. There's three basic types, 'white', 'white ambience' and 'white and colour ambience'. If it has a slightly different name it will be an older or newer version of one of these. All the bulbs 'dim' and there's some helpful presets in the Hue app like nightlight, etc. It's handy if you have a light in a child's room that you want to turn off at a set time, or turn off remotely. This is the simplest of the Hue bulbs and you could get away with the bluetooth only option with these. You can also purchase a dimming lightswitch for about 15 pounds. How do they compare to the wi-fi based or zigbee based competitors? When it's just a pure straightforward warm wight, it doesn't really matter what brand you choose as long as the control and connection is easy and reliable. Once you're paying under £10.01 a bulb, these are worth a look. Otherwise look elsewhere or go higher up in the hue range for the flagship results.

Great product, nice warm white light, and lots of dimming options. Will need a Philips Hue Bridge to connect it to your wifi network. Works well with the described fitting, and lets of a lot of light. Low energy usage, so won’t increase bills a lot. Can be controlled using phone, or Alexa / Google Home, and the Apple Home app. Can great automations to come on and off at certain times, and can be used with Alexa Routines.

Not at all cheap in fact you might need a grant. I bought a ceiling light that requires x6 of these lamps so that’s nearly £75 on light bulbs nearly as much as the fitting. But this is Philips quality. The light output is great (and dimmable) and they are a good fit. If you have a Philips HUE system already you’ll know it’s quite easy to setup. The challenge here is that you want all the lights to work as one not turning on x6 lights individually. It’s actually a pretty simple process. Once you have named each lamp (bulb) you can group them and assign a HUE switch to that group or use the app. If you have square control puck you can also use Apples HomeKit and Siri (the original round one doesn’t have this feature) to control the lights. As an append, I installed most of my HUE system nearly 10years ago now and all the lamps still work, They may be expensive but I’ve been saving energy using LEDs and have the functionality of HUE all this time, so maybe they aren’t bad value despite the initial outlay.

The main problem is that they do disconnect from the Echo sometimes, and need unscrewing to reconnect them. It's not a big deal, but it would be if you're away from home. Overall, they are very satisfactory.

Good bulbs nice and bright and easy to set up on the Hue Bluetooth app. Decided to go with Philip Hue because of its functionalities, ease of use, home integration and the branding. Though these are pricy, it was recommend as they last a very long time and good value for money. And There is something that sets it apart from other smart bulbs out there. I’ll be buying more in the future.

This range of smart bulbs has really grown over the years and I am not ashamed to admit I have all different types of these bulbs all over my home. Working with both Alexa and Siri, with mad-easy installation, I wouldn't use anything else. This excellent value pack of twin bulbs is no exception. The much smaller candle bulbs fit two small IKEA lamps we recently purchased and are perfect in the bedroom, giving two cheap products a fantastic upgrade. The light is bright and warm, but not glarey, and worth every penny.

Items arrived well packaged and on time. I was a little dubious about how much light these would give out but very pleased with them. Bulbs appear to be of good quality, None have blown so far, still going strong. Not sure how much these will save me on electricity, I suppose it's difficult to tell, would I buy again ? Yes.

Good brightness and was set up and working with Alexa Echo Dot 4 within a few minutes. Not had a single problem with connectivity and it is very easy to control with voice commands. Downside is they are expensive so would recommend buying when discounted

Ho acquistato queste due lampadine per equipaggiare un paio di piccoli punti luce nel mio soggiorno. Possiedo già numerose lampade Philips Hue e fissato come sono, con queste ulteriori modelli ho completato l'opera. Come sempre Philips si fa pagare questa tipologia di prodotti ma devo anche dire che la qualità è ottima. Certo non bisogna aspettarsi un fascio luminoso da stadio, ma la quantità di luce emessa è molto più che sufficiente. Il consiglio è sempre di dotarsi del dispositivo Bridge della Philips, venduto a parte, che consente molte più personalizzazioni e fa accedere alla app dedicata; app che è veramente ben fatta. Questo modello in particolare non ha tutte le gradazione di colore ma permette di regolare intensità e gradazione di bianco tutto a distanza anche con il semplice interfacciamento di Alexa. L'associazione con Alexa è facilissima ed immediata: ho letto di utenti che si sono lamentati della difficoltà di associazione dei dispositivi Hue. Mah io non ho mai avuto problemi e anche quando per diversi motivi dovesse rendersi necessario il riavvio del proprio router, il Bridge automaticamente si ricollega senza richiedere ulteriori nuove configurazioni.
