I've checked several glasses for IR 808 and 980nm. Among the 3 green pairs they are absolutely stunning. Other green glasses only slightly absorbed IR light being the darkest and cheapest (up to $20 a pair). All more expensive but pink glasses failed the IR test completely (I wonder why Amazon tolerates this scam - it's a medical safety issue!). I prefer to use this pair than the one that came with my 810nm laser, which are darker green and less comfortable than the described here item. For my head the LaserPair Fiber Laser Safety Glasses are slightly too large, but I can live with this.

We purchased 2 pairs of these and they both broke easily. They offered to replace the 1st one and I didn't even bother to open up the replacement package because prior to receiving it, the other pair broke. They are supposed to be safety goggles however if the frames break so easily makes you wonder if the lens actually protects.

While playing with a 30 watt 975nm fiber laser, you NEED eye protection.These goggles are effective at blocking the IR light. When placed over my IR sensitive camera, they can no longer see the focused beam, only the glow of the fire on the wood.4 stars because they are not a great fit. There is room under the goggles for light to enter from the bottom and go directly into your eyes.

Work well without blocking all the ambient light from view

These glasses fit acceptably. If I tilted my head in certain directions there were gaps which allowed my eyes to be exposed.Most importantly, they did not even last for two months of use. While they are used on a near daily basis, I store them in the case they come in when they aren't being used. I only clean the lenses with a lens wipe designed to not remove light-filtering coatings. For $60 I would have expected something which lasted more than a few weeks.
