Q: How large are the shapes; largest one, smallest one, please?

The largest shape is the gryodus & the king crab. They Re roughly 4 inches long and the gryodus is 1/4 inch thick. The king crab depth ranges from 1/4 to almost 3-4 inch at the thickest part. The smallest is the trilobite At around 3 inches long. I tried to use joint compound but the mold is plastic and I destroyed the shape. I ended up using play doh as I didn't need a permanent item.

Q: Can these molds be used with chocolate?

Yep! That's exactly what I did. I used white chocolate... I let them set up a bit, then removed some of the inside (they're a bit big) and let them firm up. To make them really look like fossils, dust them with cocoa when you unmold them. They were super cool on a cake!!
