Finally, a cutter that works! I was looking for a cutter that would function properly. The tool that I had been using would never cut a square end. It would always cut crookedly and primarily crush instead of cut the pipe. This cutter does an excellent job. The blade is much sharper and of a different design. It cuts CPVC pipe at a perfect right angle, smooth and even. The ratcheting mechanism makes for minimal effort needed to make the cuts. The bright yellow color makes them easier to find when needed. I can’t believe how nice these are at this price point. I’m not aware of any replacement blades available, but at this price, I look at this tool as a throwaway when it finally becomes too dull.

Four stars because I had to add a shim to make it work. Poor quality control on an otherwise great design. Blade flops around because frame is not machined properly. Would cut crooked. Here's the fix:. add a .012 shim (or whatever you need to fix yours) to the blade pivot bolt. Comes apart easily to insert the shim. After shim inserted, cuts beautifully; provided, for a 3/4 CPVC set the pipe on the back radius in the jaw and NOT the front. This way the point of the blade pierces the pipe and a good cut is made. Nice feature is blade snaps open unlike other cutters which require manually opening the grips to get the blade open. For a shim, I used a piece of alum flashing cut with tin snipps. Insert it and use the blade pivot hole as a template to dril a hole in the shim stock.

Cuts PVC pipe quickly and easily. Easy to handle and a good value.

Let's be clear, this is ripping off the DeWalt name and likeness. It is also inexpensive. I used it to cut a rubber hose for my commercial mower I use for our lawn, and a couple of 1 1/8" ballast lines on our wakeboat. Cut through them very cleanly and easily. So it does its job at a low price.

With covid-19 going on all the big box stores were sold out of these PVC pipe cutters. I saw mostly good reviews on this with a couple complaints. I took a chance on it and I'm glad I did because it works perfectly. I uploaded a video showing how it works perfectly and it is not flimsy. And the video you could see I'm cutting schedule 40 and not cheap PVC pipe. Schedule 40 is thicker than cheap PVC pipe and it cut through it like butter. So don't believe a bad reviews cuz I just proved them wrong. I definitely recommend this PVC cutter.

Works but screw constantly comes loose and needs tightening. Also theyre trying to ripoff dewalt brand with colors and name.
