Works well
It cuts PVC pipe cleanly. Thanks to its ratchet, it takes little effort. Seems well made. Good value. There are many others that look identical and have the same features, and they probably work as well too. It's a useful tool that for modest use should last a lifetime.

EXCELLENT TOOL
I'm really impressed with how easily this tool cuts PVC pipe. The pointed blade shape causes the blade to quickly pierce the pipe wall and the Teflon coated blade is so sharp that it cuts through the pipe easier than any cutter I've ever owned. Blade opening is spring loaded and the detents on the ratchet are close together which is very helpful for old guys like me whose hand strength has been robbed by arthritis. I am 100% satisfied with every aspect of this pipe cutter.

Quality control issue, floppy blade, poorly cut frame, but easily FIXABLE with a .012 inch shim
Four stars because I had to add a shim to make it work. Poor quality control on an otherwise great design. Blade flops around because frame is not machined properly. Would cut crooked. Here's the fix:. add a .012 shim (or whatever you need to fix yours) to the blade pivot bolt. Comes apart easily to insert the shim. After shim inserted, cuts beautifully; provided, for a 3/4 CPVC set the pipe on the back radius in the jaw and NOT the front. This way the point of the blade pierces the pipe and a good cut is made. Nice feature is blade snaps open unlike other cutters which require manually opening the grips to get the blade open. For a shim, I used a piece of alum flashing cut with tin snipps. Insert it and use the blade pivot hole as a template to dril a hole in the shim stock.

Love it!
It's so easy to use – one hand is all it takes. The ratchet mechanism makes quick work of even thick pipes, and it leaves a clean, burr-free cut. I used it to replace some old PVC pipes in my basement and it saved me a ton of time and frustration. Highly recommend it to any DIYer or plumber.

Well Built
I'm glad I brought this product. It was a time saver when I cut my water hose to repair the leaking nozzle at the end of the hose. The tool's made of good quality and functionally well too.

Only buy for 1 1/4" PVC or less... Will not allow 1 1/2" PVC into jaw.
**Will not accept 1 1/2" PVC into the jaw.Seller claims 1 5/8", but I believe this to be a typo. Perhaps 1 3/8"?Wish it would've accommodated my PVC as it appeared better constructed than the cheap comparables on Amazon.

Much needed tool
When we went thru the Polar Vortex, I had frozen pipes. I needed this tool to cut the PVC lines.
