This Is Wonderful Tea!
This is my first experience with Yerba Mate. It tastes wonderful, somewhat smoky with a slight matcha flavor. I made iced tea with berries, mint or lemon balm. I've also added vanilla or cinnamon sugar free syrups to hot tea. I use a french press, it turns out perfectly every time, but had to Google Translate the directions. I'm happy decided on this brand. It gives clean, all day energy, curbs my appetite and reduces sugar cravings. It seems to have no anxiety inducing effects like coffee, so far. The package could be better, the bag rips easily, so be ready to transfer it to a canister or container.

My fav...
I'm no connoisseur of fine Mattes. I've only tried a few brands, but Rosamonte is my favorite so far. I think the flavor is stronger than others and the loose leaf mix is just the right grade: not too dusty and fine and its not like, straight up leaves either. Its pretty much perfect for probably any type of filter. Also, I don't think there were too many sticks and stems as fillers in the bag. I'm pretty sure the bag Cruz de Malta that I ordered had a bit more of that (although apart from this minor discrepancy, I remember Cruz de Malta being practically indistinguishable from Rosamonte). In any case, I will surely order Rosamonte again for my loose leaf Yerba Matte fulfillments.

pretty good
It has an earthy flavor that I like and the price was good. It's kind of "dusty" as with most teas like this. I've ordered another brand this time, a bulk bag of five pounds. I enjoy different teas and the yerba mate is said to help control blood sugar levels and be energizing. Here's hoping. ;)

The Genuine Stuff
My niece's husband is Argentinian and sips this stuff all day long. They were coming for a visit, so I thought I'd try to be prepared ... Turns out this is his favorite brand.

Very dusty
I really hate writing a bad review, and I'm certainly not a connoisseur of Yerba Mate teas, but this tea tastes awful. It's only the second Yerba Mate I've ever bought but the taste between this one and the other one I have is worlds apart. The bag was damaged when I received it and was taped up to keep the contents inside. That wasn't a problem in and of itself but I noticed a lot of dusty particles of tea had escaped the bag which made me wonder if it was in leaf form at all. I opened the bag and dumped it all into a gallon size Ziplock bag since the original bag was damaged. There are leaves in it but there is a lot of dust in it. The dusty stuff escaped my tea infuser and ended up in the bottom of my cup when I steeped this tea. I was thinking about hand sifting out the dust and saving the leaves but the taste is so bad, sorry to say but it reminds me of an ashtray, that I don't think I'll bother. If someone thinks I'm doing something wrong that may effect the flavor (steeping too long, using too much tea, etc.) please let me know.

Decent mate
I should preface this by saying that I've never been to Argentina, so this review is from a somewhat mate-ignorant perspective. That said, I really loved this mate! I drank it all pretty quickly, and it is of a very satisfactory quality. It has no pretensions—this is ordinary, everyday, decent mate, and my friends and I greatly enjoyed it.
