Just Bought Another After First Units are Going on Two Years of Oklahoma Weather Abuse!
Ever since I was a kid, I've been a fan of solar so it's great to finally see very practical uses of solar showing up for the homeowner. Bought two of these to light up the pitch black areas in the yard off of the sun room. WOW! Are they bright! Excellent, wide coverage too. Don't worry about mounting the bracket to the wall exactly level. The engineers of the thing left a little right-left play in the bracket to level the unit after mounting. Excellent! The length of the wire from the solar panel to the unit appears quite adequate for those who need to mount the solar panel farther away from the LED. I didn't measure the wire but I'm guessing at least 6 feet of total cable. I bundled the extra and just left it next to the solar panel on the roof of the sun room. The instructions say mount the photovoltaic panel facing north if you are in the northern hemisphere. That didn't make sense to me so I mounted the panels on top of the sun room facing west where I know they will get drenched with sun the latter part of the day. After mounting I was slightly worried that both units were defective. When I tried to do the initial setup after they'd been soaking up the sun for a few hours? Nothing. No lights or indication that were working. Uh-oh. I decided to let them sit for another day since we had slightly overcast skies. That evening I stepped off the sun room and....? (insert angelic voices here...) I got blasted with light! When I went to the check the other unit? No such result. The problem? There is a big power button rather awkwardly placed at the back of the unit sort of behind the bracket. Push it. You'll have to find the "clickety" part of the button to engage it. Assuming the light is fully charged be sure and NOT be looking into the LED panel when you push the button! (Insert laser-gun sound here....)So now that you know the unit is powered on you can begin fiddling with the duration and lux settings. For duration? You can have the light stay on anywhere from 3 seconds to a full 10 minutes with 8 time intervals in between. I putter around my garden at night quite a lot so I set mine for 10 minutes. Always comes on, stays on and never dims. Awesome! The lux setting determines how dark it has to be before the light will activate. Four different settings choices there. The higher the lux number? The sooner the light will turn on before total darkness. Adjusting each of these duration and lux options is a straight forward two button dance. Very nice. Green light indicates you are setting duration, red for lux. One complaint. These indicator lights are rather weak so you have to get at just the right angle to see whether you are setting lux or duration through the little indicator light hole. On the other hand, the red LED number setting light is bright and easy to see. The units physically adjust right to left, up and down and appear to have a decent range of motion. I needed to adjust mine a bit downwards to better catch the motion sensor as I plunge into the darkness. But the motion sensors work fabulously. It's become a family fun activity now to jump off the couch when the light comes on to see whether it's the spooky looking, stray, "earless" cat prowling around, an opossum, or a raccoon! The first two units I purchased almost two years ago and they are still going strong! Even after our famous Oklahoma weather abuse. The two original units have been through ice and snow storms, 100+ degree heat, and our torrential rains. After mounting the third unit on the sun room roof I examined the other two solar panels. I kid you not, they looked new. (See photo.) No seepage from the rain into the photovoltaics and even more impressive is that the glass part of the panel? Must be dust resistant. It looked very clear which of course helps the sun-to-electricity conversion efficiency. No warping on the case either. Hard to believe after our blistering summer temperatures here. The first two units I purchased were apparently sold by an outfit here called 'Microsolar". (Amazon says, no longer available.) The next one I just purchased was by "Robust Solar" because it appeared identical to the first two with one minor exception. The newer unit now has a white back plate underneath the solar panel instead of a black one. (Photos of both.) Smart. Means they absorb less heat and probably better for the photovoltaics.I'm so pleased with these units - especially their longevity and toughness - that I plan to buy more to light up other dark areas of the yard.

Perfect for my car port and driveway - Update after 1 year in use works perfectly.
I needed a good motion sensor light that I could install under my car port without having to install 110V wiring etc. I have only had this light for a short period of time which I usually wait a while longer before posting a review however in this case I decided to post a review based off a couple weeks usage because this light has been so great to date.It was easy to install and to adjust the Lux and Time On. I already have a couple other style solar motion lights installed however they are the type where the solar panel in part of the light and I needed one with the remote solar panel so that I could install it on the house to light up under the car port. The motion senor works better than I expected easily sensing motion and turning the light on. In my opinion the motion sensor works better than the ones on my 110V motion sensor lights. It really lights up my drive way, car port area, and my vehicles in the drive way adding additional security and lighting at night.I have an older DVR camera system in my driveway that does not record things well at night, even with infrared cameras, unless there is good lighting. With the addition of this light now the camera will easily record good video of anyone in and around my vehicles, house front, and driveway.Update after 1 year. Still working excellently and will turn on all night.

For the price - it's a good deal.
Update - July, 2021.Bought this five years ago, and it's still going strong. It faces south, and it gets blasted by the sun all day long. There is also little to no protection from rain, snow or wind. No issues - this little light has kept working just fine. The motion sensors still work well. The battery seems fine - the light is still nice and bright when it comes on. Amazing.==============I have had this for about a month, and it's performed reliably. It was easy to install; however, the instructions were obviously written by someone whose primary language was not English. Instructions were a little difficult to understand sometimes, but the setup is straightforward enough that this didn't really pose a problem.Pros: I like the fact that light can be adjusted both horizontally and vertically. Same for the motion detector. The controls are easy to use and to set. The light is bright, and the auto-shut off and motion detector work as advertised.Cons: The construction and design seem to be on the cheap side - esp. compared to the Sunforce 80 LED solar motion light. light (which I purchased at the same time). That being said, there have been no malfunctions, and I'm happy with its performance thus far. The screws included were cheap - I used my own (galvanized for outdoor use).
