Sturdy and good value
I could have got some cheaper brackets if I’d been more patient but I’m not! These are still excellent value for money and I’m so happy with them. I had wanted to have scaffold board shelves in my downstairs loo for 3 years. I finally got a scaffolder neighbour to bring some broken boards home (free) which my husband cut to size and sanded (length 140cm) and I stained. We bought 3 sets of these brackets and put the 3 shelves up and they look amazing. All in all an inexpensive project which cost us £50 including brackets and stain.Edit - I have since bought another pair of brackets for another shelf we whitewashed for the kitchen last week. Very happy with cost, quality and delivery time again.

Awful quality
I don't usually feel compelled to leave a review, but upon seeing the plethora of positive feedback I think it's important....Opened the package and my hands are instantly covered in black powder, probably more so than the black coating left on the brackets. The brackets are not straight, and unfortunately differ in their lack of straightness so don't know how I'll get a shelf to sit flush to them. They are marked, as a previous reviewer says, most likely from the vice they've been held in.Be warned, these brackets are of serious heft and seriously bad quality

Scaffold board shelf brackets
Very sturdy, strong brackets but my main gripe is they are not set properly at right angles , so when you put them up they slope forward, well out of plumb !!Had to heat them up and bend them square , so for the price they need a bit more attention to detail !!!

Don't ignore the other reviews like I did - SHOCKING QUALITY
I mean, where to start? The quality of this product is so bad, it ridiculous I have to give it one star.Firstly when receiving my package, I could see that the box had been returned as the original Sellotape had been cut and some scotch tape was holding it closed. So I'm at least the second person to be given these pieces of junk. The quality itself? Let the photos do the talking. When I first opened the box, my hands got absolutely covered in something black. These are raw steel and whoever packaged them, made zero effort in cleaning them. There are scorch marks on every hole from where the drill piece has entered the metal. On the "bends" there are massive gouges out the metal from where its been clamped. The clamps have dug into the metal creating divets and pushed the material to the edge creating a sharp lip, however that's not the worst. The bends themselves are such poor quality, that the material itself has split and cracked. All 4 bends (2 on each bracket) are majorly damaged and have massive cracks in the steel. Whats-more is the bends at the end to hold the shelves aren't even 90 degrees. All they literally have to do it get a straight piece of metal and put two bends in it and they royally messed it up. Stay well clear. For anyone who is unfortunate enough to read this review after receiving them, these are the 255 up models. Lets see if a third person becomes unfortunate enough to receive them.STAY WELL CLEAR

Poor craftsmanship - not as advertised
Ok so I understand these are supposed to be "rustic" however I did not expect such poor workmanship. They are clearly bare metal non-treated or cleaned which could be accepted for a bracket. What I don't feel is acceptable is how they have not been deburred around the edges/ holes making them very sharp and they have bend marks left from the v-blocks used. Very shoddy and not even bent at 90 degrees. Quite disappointed the product is not made to the same standard or materials as the pictures show.

Good solid supports
I knew these were going to be solid when I chose them and they look very ‘industrial’ before you install them but once the shelf is in place they are pretty unobtrusive and personally I like the look. The supplied screws do the job although I don’t know what the head is - they aren’t great with a Phillips no. 2. I didn’t need the wall plugs as I was screwing into wood but if it had been masonry I would definitely have used them as they were good quality. I am using them in my kitchen, which may not be everyone’s choice, and I may have to paint or protect them if they start to rust but I don’t see that as an issue. One very good reason for choosing them is that the bracket is above the shelf so will be hidden in many cases and it may not always be possible to mount a bracket below the shelf due to space etc.

Lengths and heights vary
I bought a pair for my 20cm deep shelves. I measured the shelves and checked the picture so felt confident they would fit fine.I haven't installed yet as they arrived just this morning but... It is clear I'm going to have to modify my shelves with a chisel if I am going to get these to work for me. I just hope I can get the shelves somewhat level.I actually should have ordered two pairs so have placed an order for a second. Will be interesting to see how much more variation there might be. But in the current times I'm not inclined to go to the post office to sort out a return. I just hope my shelf modifications go ok!

Very strong rustic style brackets
6mm thick mild steel will support a lot. The included screws and plugs are suitable for a solid wall and work well. Easy to install and much thicker than the usual DiY store brackets. As others have said they are dusty from the manufacturing process open the box over newspaper then brush the brackets down or wash them before use. Could be painted with a suitable metal paint.
