These lathe tools are very good for the money. They are in the middle price-wise but are only a little less robust than the sets twice as costly. They are solid and work great.

I am new to wood turning, wanted to get an inexpensive set to start out. These have performed very well and seem to hold their edge nicely. The box they come in is kind of junky, but I don't store them in it, so not really a big deal.

These did not work for me at all. Terrible results.But i gave these 3 stars because I think part of the problem is me. I'm not an experienced wood turner and this was only my first project with the wood lathe.They are completely dull. Not sharp at all. Evidently they do not come pre-sharpened so you have to sharpen them. But sharpening them is no small task. You need jigs and fixtures and good quality flat and round stones. It's not something beginners can use.The tools seem solid, well built so I think these might be good tools for someone who has the right stuff to sharpen them. But if you are a beginner and expecting them to come ready to use, they will not!!! So don't buy.The picture is the result of my attempt to use these tools. Did not cut at all, not even softwood like ordinary pine.

My husband and I are both beginners at wood turning but this tool set makes it seem easy. We bought ourselves a lathe for Christmas and ordered this tool set so we would have the appropriate tools. The set arrived quickly and does the job nicely.

It is a good beginner set, but I realized in the first 15 hours that the steel is pretty soft and they came dull. After multiple sharpenings, I decided to invest in the couple of tools I used often.

Awesome product, and great customer service. I have used these tools several times and they have helped me get to the next level. Great for someone looking to have the high level quality and a very good price. I will only be using yellowhammer tools for their quality.
