Phoenix 11.5' Professional Square Sun Shade Sail Desert Sand Color, Includes All Mounting Hardware

This sun shade sail keeps the swimming pool water cooler during the hot summer time. I would have bought this product sooner if I knew. Now that I know, I want to get two additional shades for the patio. It works perfect! So, oh yes, I definitely recommend01/26/2013After a summer's use, I am certain to have made a great purchase. Everyone of our friends had to comment on what a smart idea to have placed a sun shade to protect against the harsh hot sun while in the pool, and it added an elegant element to the pool. I still want to get two additional sun shades, but this time I want them to be triangle shape to complement the surroundings where the tables and lounges are, instead of umbrellas. These sunshades are made of very sturdy material, durable and very attractive. And one of the best part, so far I haven't had to clean it, like I have to do with the patio umbrellas. The material that it's made of (some kind of heavy nylon) repels everything.

We've been using the Professional Phoenix 18.5' Square Sun Shade Sails in our backyard to keep the pool cool. Late last summer we added a Professional Phoenix 11.5 square sail in a smaller section of our patio. Then we added one more 18.5' square sail over our large patio - for a total of 4 sails! During a recent thunderstorm, I had to remove the one 18.5' sail over the patio. Before I got it back up, my darn dog chewed 3 holes in it! I had to replace it with the HOME kit because the Professional kit was not available. The HOME kit is much much lighter in weight than the Professional Kit. I would still recommend the heavier Professional sun shade sail just because mine have been through a beating.

Bought this shade April 2012 and mounted it on two sides to the eaves of the roof and on the other sides we're using stainless steel volleyball net poles and bases from patio umbrellas (water bladder inside to hold them down). We had to come up with something as we have a neighbor's house butting up to this side yard and couldn't attach it to their roof. The ground in Arizona is so hard that putting poles in it is not an attractive option. The monsoon winds arrived soon after installation and I thought for sure our new sail was going to "set sail" but it held tight and has through every wind event since then. We left it up all winter and it looks as good as the day we bought it. Would highly recommend the professional grade sail for shade in Arizona.

I bought the Phoenix 11.5' Square Sun Sail to replace a sun shade that had steel rods on the perimeter. The weather had taken its toll on the old one and I wanted something that could flex with the wind, unlike my old one. This works perfectly. You do have to make allowances for the shape, which previous reviews noted are wider on the ends than the middles. I also chose to mount the two bottom corners using stainless steel cabling rather than rope. After several weeks, it has settled in well and I would highly recommend it. Edit: Six months later, after several strong thunderstorms, it has not stretched and still looks great.

If you need shade this is a great product. The shade wasn't hard to install (main thing was install a post for a 4th connection on porch). It has been up for about a month & after the first major wind, I had to adjust it, but that is all. I would suggest to buy some swing set chain to use instead of the rope. It makes it a lot easier to get it tight. Also you might want to use different screws for they are galvanized steel & easy to strip. I plan on taking this down in a week for the winter when the time changes, but I will definitely put this back up in the Spring.

If you need a shady area, these are great. Used this for girlfriends deck. Installation hardware that comes with it is ok. We ordered the professional kit with the stainless hardware. The brackets are fine, but the screws stripped very easily. Fortunately, I had some galvanized screws handy. Also, recommended is getting some wire cable or chains to help with rough adjustment. I did not need the rope and it seems like it would be sufficient, however, you will want wire clamps to fasten it at the desired length instead of trying to tie it.The material is thick to the point very little light comes through which is exactly what we were looking for. Great product minus the stainless screws.

The Phoenix 11.5' sails are ok, but be careful if you need the dimensions to be as specified. I purchased 3 sets of the sails. One of the sails did not have all the hardware with it. My real problem with the sails is their dimensions. The sail shades are cut similar to the specification drawing with the center of the sides being slightly shorter than the corners. My problem is that NO dimension on the sails is 11.5 feet. Corner to corner the sails measured about 10.5 feet. In the center the sails measured about 8.5 feet across. The material seems sturdy enough and when included the hardware is fine, but the sail size should be as advertised!Update 1/2014I have had the sails up for 2 summers now. The winds here are sometimes very strong (30-40mph) but the sails have stood up to the wind very well. Also the sails have stretched slightly - but they still aren't 11.5' at the corners.

This is better than expected! I now can sit outside without being fried by the sun. The shade even provides a diffused light to brighten up the inside of our house. I also like the sun shade because it gives me a little more privacy from my neighbors. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a little space to be outside without fear of being sunburned.
