I wish they were still available
I bought this 2-pack for both the FT2D and FT3D. They work great. I went to buy a second set and they're not available at this time. Sad. I wanted more.

Looks good for backup, contacts on outside are always live.
They seem to charge just fine and work well with the radio. The clips I got are spring loaded, as opposed to what is shown in the pictures, but it is not as strong as the genuine battery. However, I was poking around with a multi-meter and found on the main terminals that power the radio there is approx 8VDC. The contacts on the back also show 8VDC. The genuine Yaesu batteries do not have this voltage present on the outside of the battery. They should be fine if you're careful, but be aware it seems you could short out the contacts on the outside of the battery either when connected to the radio body or while stored.

Good replacement
Seems to work as well as the Yaesu battery pack and is a whole lot cheaper. Of course, give me 12 months and that impression might change!

Not what I paid for.
only 1 of the 2 batteries worked. The other was dead on arrival. Placed on charger or 24 hrs and nothing.

Not Lithium-ion,nbut close enough.
Using the Yaesu part number “SBR-14-LI” is a bit misleading as these are not Lithium-ion batteries. They charge just the same on the Yaesu Fast Charger, as well as the Yaesu, cigarette lighter charger. They fit the FT3D perfectly, deliver the same 8.4 volts when fully charged, and power the radio as expected. The FT3D is rugged as a tank, yet can run all day on a single battery charge, and I noticed no difference between these and the battery which comes supplied with the radio— other than that the Yaesu’s belt clip is far superior. The original Yaesu battery is still going strong— twenty months, in daily rotation with one of these replacement batteries. At just about sixteen or seventeen months, this replacement battery can no longer be charged.Neither charger recognizes the battery, and when the radio is on the cigarette lighter charger with this battery, the radio powers up, but when the radio is turned off, the display reads “No Battery.”They came as a pair, and I intentionally, kept the second one in reserve— only occasionally topping it off, but never using it. It is still fine.It makes it a tough decision whether to buy two of these or pay a little more for one original Yaesu battery.
