I was looking for a sturdy case to protect my iPad while traveling that also covered the screen, and the flap design of this case seemed to fit the bill. The other features were ones that I didn't think I'd end up using, but I was wrong... Everything about this case screams quality, starting with the way it was boxed (Apple vibe) and ending with the build quality. There's a rim around the iPad that protect the screen from getting scratched if you put it face down while the flap is open. When you close the flap it fits with that rim, as opposed to sitting on top of it. Combined with the flap magnetically latching onto the screen, it provides a very sturdy enclosure that you can drop into a (laptop) bag without worry. It has a sleeve for the Apple pencil on the back, so you don't have an (empty) pen slot taking up space to the side of your iPad. While I worried a bit about the extra bulge it would create when the pencil was inserted, this didn't end up being a problem. The feature I didn't expect to use was the magnetically locking stand, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. In the past I've used iPad stands during video conferences, but since switching to this case I've exclusively used its built-in feature prop the iPad up in landscape mode. There are 8 slots that can hold the stand, providing a sufficient range of viewing angles. Because the back of the case is magnetic, the stand reliably locks in place. I've never had it collapse on me. I've used it to watch videos with the case resting on armrests, desks, and airplane tray-tables. I've been exclusively using this case for the past 6 months, and it really feels like a "last one you'll need" type of product. Definitely not the cheapest, but worth every penny.

I have always liked the “portfolio” type iPad cases, where you can open it like a magazine. This is a solid choice and the best case I have gotten, personally. I have had an ESR case and a Pro Case (in 2021- but they all chipped and shattered, even though my iPad sits on my couch). It was likely the quality of plastic during the supply chain issues, since it was so brittle, but I imagine newer cases are better. This case is what I wanted. It’s not too thin, it adds protection, it adds a really strong magnetic kickstand for different viewing angles and has some cut outs in the back (hidden behind the kick stand) for passive venting of the iPad as it charges… that’s important to not let thermal heat ruin your battery, so this should help. Granted this case is much thicker than slim cases like ESR, it’s what I wanted… I wanted something thicker and better quality so I never need to buy another case again or have another case (from another brand) crack on me again. The fitment is awesome, the microfiber interior cover has been changed to microfiber on the back and a soft dimpled fabric on the front cover interior (to stop picking up debris when you use the stand since you have to fold the cover as a base, so it touches surfaces). Anecdotally, when I had microfiber cases that had microfiber in the front, it picked up all sorts of debris and left faint marks on my cover (that I could wash off), just from the dirty cover on top of the iPad (from letting it touch surfaces when I was choosing a display angle)… so that’s another plus. The fact they don’t use microfiber for the interior cover is a good thing. The fabric in its place will protect just as well as microfiber and stop picking up debris. It has little icons for power and volume imprinted in the case, has a matte finish, and just feels solid. It feels expensive. The magnets are surprising strong. It does add bulk (like an Otterbox case), but this design is just so smooth. It’s better looking than other brands, and from what I understand, this is from a family owned US business, so you do not need to worry about cheap clones. The packaging looks cool too. It’s an unboxing experience sort of like Apple, where everything is clean and precise. It would make a good gift to. Plus the little stretch band for the Apple Pencil is appreciated. It doesn’t attach on the side like some other ZUGU cases, but that would only widen the size of the case so I’m glad I did not get the one that can charge an Apple Pencil while in the case by attaching it to the side. Overall, this is a legit case. It’s quality. It fits well. It looks cool. The magnets are strong. It’s from a real company, and is not a clone of another item. If you like Portfolio style iPad cases, need a kickstand, and want protection, this is the case to get. I spent 2-3 hours searching for cases and landed on this, so use the time I spent finding the best case, to help make your purchasing decision. This is a legit case, and I am very very picky. It is a solid product. If you like this design get it. My iPad feels and looks protected… and honestly, the blacked out case looks amazing. I am not finding any faults yet at all.

This case is magnificent as to how it encapsulates the 13 inch iPad Pro. It may add some heft to the ultra thin tablet, but it doesn’t compromise the functionality of use at all. It was easy to install and a perfect fit. It strongly supports the larger tablet in landscape mode with its adjustable viewing positions. The back even flips up to make it a magnetic tablet that can stick and hold on to metal surfaces. The front cover even has a sleep/wake function for the front screen on the tablet. There’s even a notch on the side that magnetically supports and holds Apple Pencil Pro. This is a wonderful functional case that supports and protects the iPad Pro. It’s definitely worth the investment.

I’ve owned many iPad cases over the years, but the ZUGU case stands in a class of its own. The build quality is exceptional—solid, precise, and clearly engineered with long-term durability in mind. Best quality case I have found. It’s sturdy and holds the tilted position you put it in without slipping every time you move. It’s very functional. The magnet is very strong so you can safely hang it when needed. I won’t ever buy the cheap ones again because this is worth the money to protect my expensive iPad.

This review is for ZUGU CASE for iPad 10.2 Inch 7th / 8th / 9th Gen (2021/2020/2019) Protective, Thin, Magnetic Stand, Sleep/Wake Cover. It is a really nice iPad case and works perfectly as designed. There are so many cases to choose from and this one really stood out for me when I was in the market for a new case. I purchased it back in Jan 2022 and I am very pleased with it overall. A lot has already been said about the Zugu case so I'd just be repeating what many have said. I was impressed with the case from the moment I got the box and unwrapped the product. It came in really nice packaging worthy of a high end product. The case felt sturdy and of good workmanship. First impression is everything, right? I've been using this case for 7 months now and I feel that I can now give a proper opinion. While everything is working nicely as designed from flexibility of use and sleep/wake mode, etc. Based on my personal usage with the black case, I will say 1) I will not purchase a "close to sleep" cover again. Why? Because I spend a lot of time listening to audiobooks/podcasts/music on Youtube and I often carry my iPad with me as I do laundry, etc. and I keep forgetting to close the iPad cover and it immediately turns off my iPad. I don't want this at all. I want to close the cover but I want to continue to listen to my audiobooks, etc. and not let the iPad go to sleep. I guess I had not considered this when I made the purchase because I was too excited about getting a Zugu case, so it was my fault. 2) Every time I go to grab the iPad, I keep grabbing and smearing the camera lens so I wish the case can be improved by some kind of thin color stripe or design running down the side where the camera is located or on the opposite side (or anything) so I can avoid picking up the iPad from that side/spot. I should know where the camera is located but I don't always pause to think about it; and I don't want to have to hesitate every time I pick up the iPad. I don't want wild crazy colors everywhere but just a simple stripe would be nice. Lastly, 3) The pencil holder is nice and all but once I put in an Apple Pencil, I find it a bit "annoying" as I tend to grab it and move it around quite often. I'm thinking I would rather have the holder be integrated along the edge of the iPad case, even if it adds a little more width to the case. Also I'm kind of worried the pencil cap would fall off without me noticing. It hasn't happened yet, so it could be unfounded. My last suggestion is Zugu should change the orientation of the "ZUGU" label on the case because I keep seeing CQCN and always have to do a double take. Other than that, it is a good case and it is working as designed. My iPad feels safe and protected so I would recommend this case. I'd give it a 4.4/5.0 - 07/26/2022.

Purchased two of these cases in different colors to go with the budget iPads purchased for the kids on Prime Day. For what I paid for the pads themselves, started to think twice on this case when I looked at the price vs. some of the other cases out there. I actually purchased a $9 case in Prime Day first- left it in the package, then ordered these and returned the $9 case- smart move. Read the reviews here first and foremost, they were spot on. The packaging was pretty ummm exceptional for a case. My 13 year old was actually astonished to "unwrap" it and find a thank you card on the inside from the company... it is little things like that... The feel of the material is exceptional- not sure what it is made out of but it has a nice soft texture. The weight is nice, build quality is amazing. iPad fits snug into case, fits recessed to allow the top flap to close to allow the "sleep" function to work. I will say the only negative of the case is that with a screen protector on, the screen protector lifts off the glass when the case moves as the fit of the lip of the case touches right where the protector touches the glass. Just removed the screen protector. To me the case was worth more protection than the $11 screen protector anyway, but just something to point out. There is no way the pad will fall out of the case either, the fit is snug and tight. Nice feature is the multi angle of the tilt function of the stand, and that it is magnetic. Many other cases/covers the flap just folds over itself and is not magnetic and will not lock in place, this is firmly locked, very nice feature. Also pretty cool that you can magnetically "mount" this to something metal like a fridge- kids were impressed by that as well. Last, colors were great- I ordered one in green, and one in black, and they look fantastic. I would summarize this review by saying invest in a great case for your equipment, your won't go wrong here- the cases are exceptional. Would not hesitate to purchase another for my next pad in a second, and I spend a lot of time reading a lot of case reviews wasting a lot of time going the cheap route... big mistake- here you do get what you pay for in a good way.

this case is a bit pricey, compared to all the other ones on Amazon, but I can definitely see why it’s pricey! This case is really high-quality, slim, and very protective. And it makes my old ass iPad look really nice! It’s a really nice material compared to the other ones that are fingerprint magnets. t’s definitely worth the money.
