Quality of the filter and the Truth about Potential counterfeits
[State of counterfeits in December 2021 and how to completely avoid them]_______________________________________________________________________________________________This is an extremely high quality, Brass filter. All version of it are Brass.Using it for the past few days I have seen Zero issues with image sharpness at all, vignetting or distortion. Its heavy, Solid and extremely smooth to turn. However, I have noticed that when using this on a step up ring (52mm lens to 58mm filter) the step up ring makes it slightly harder to turn at specific points. However, that probably say more about the step up ring than this filter. The F-Pro version reduces about 1 and 1/3rd stops of light. So you can use this as a 1 stop ND filter too.Other than that the color is amazing, Polarization is amazing and I am extremely happy I paid premium for this over a $20 filter._______________________________________________________________________________________________When it comes to counterfeits. I'd like to point something out for those who are worried. If you look at all the reviews submitted through Amazon concerning B+W Counterfeit filters. All of them. And I mean all of them going back almost a decade, are Always related to theXS-PRO (Slim Mount) version. Not the F-Pro version. If you are looking to avoid counterfeit B+W filters on Amazon get the F-Pro version. There are no documented cases of counterfeit F-Pro.B+W also has an authenticity checker on their website.Google "Schneider Kreuznach authenticity check".Keep in mind the country you bought the filter from Amazon on for the authenticity check country. If you purchased from .De Amazon, select Germany. If you purchased from .co.uk select UK.If you purchased from Amazon US select USetc. You won't regret spending money on a quality filter like this.

Changed my photography game
First of all I've moved over completely to B+W (mostly) and some Hoya. I'm selling my Tiffen's for cheap on LetGo. The quality difference between higher end filters is noticeable. Everything from the weight, feel, clarity, and picture quality. I was getting too much ghosting at various angles with the Tiffens. Now, regarding a CP filter. I've been shooting behind class or reflective surfaces (like classic cars) much more. I wanted a quality filter for tomorrow's classic car show. As soon as I got this I started shooting with it in bright sunlight and I don't know how I went without every using a CP filter in the past. Maybe that's one of the reasons I never cared for my car pictures in the past. Just like a polarized pair of sunglasses a CP filter ultimately absorbs the reflection. When shooting cars the nice paint on the cars will not all have the same mirror look, you will be able to see the actual color of the paint. While I have not compared Tiffen CP filters to B+W CP filters, I have compared Tiffen UV to B+W and B+W is much better. I didn't want to take any risks and I have no problem paying for a higher quality product. I knocked it down one star for value for money because the price is higher than it needs to be, yet it is the best filter out there so it is what it is. I'm happy.

Great for fish photos! High quality filter.
I bought this filter to take photos of fish in our trout pond. It is amazing for that purpose. The afternoon I received this was full of glare and reflections. Without looking through the camera I couldn’t see a fish. But with it on and rotated properly I was able to get great photos. The dark photo on the left was with the filter rotated to allow glare. And on the right with glare minimized. I was able to get amazing photos of the trout feeding. I can’t believe I waited this long to have one of these! My Smith sunglasses also allowed me to see these fish and that is what tipped me off that I was missing a lot in my photos. Using this filter is way easier than trying to shoot through my sunglasses. Seems to work well with my Canon 80D autofocus and auto exposure. Schneider no longer supports the counterfeit protection website that links to the box hologram label, but this seems obviously legit from the research I did as to what to look for.

Excellent Filter - Highly recommend!
The media could not be loaded. I know B+W for many years since 2006 but I never had one. Until recently I switched my camera and lenses to another brand. I had this chance to try the B+W filter. I used to have Kenko, Tiffen, and Hoya filters. I would say B+W is so far the best filter I've ever had. Not only the image clarity is perfect, but also the quality of the filter how it was built. Very slim, smooth, and metallic feel.I was worry about counterfeit issue like others reported here. So I went on the B+W official website and emailed them the security label (which is on the side of the box) to check the authentication. Luckily, they told me the one I have is legit.I'm sharing some pictures here and testing video for your reference.

Best photography accessory I have purchased to date
Worth every single penny I paid for it. Be careful that you get the Nano coated version. The normal MRC model is available for the same price; fortunately Amazon let me cancel my order easily.Rotating this polarizer against an LCD monitor completely blacked it out (so long as you are looking through it like the camera would), so I know that the polarization is excellent. I took pictures of sky and glass and played with the effects. I'd have to say this is the best accessory I've purchased, aside from the camera and lenses themselves. As you would expect from a polarizer, it boosts contrast (like good polarized sunglasses), and lets you select which reflections you want to see and hide. The latter means that you can see inside glass windows that would normally be opaque due to reflections. No vignetting on my Nikon D7100 with 10-24mm DX lens. Standard Nikon pinch caps fit securely, although they do come off with less squeeze than I use with my protective Hoya UV filter. Still secure enough that I'm not worried about it. I have not tried stacking filters.

Better - quality
I've had a few mid cost filters and was never happy with them due to constant dust on the lens and a few times they were very hard to un-screw and get off the lens. The B+W is awesome, get quality that can be felt in your hand, a quick wipe and dust was gone for hours, easy screw on easy screw off, and great picture quality. I'm planning to buy a few more B+W filters. They are great quality and don't break the bank.

Calidad

Circular Polariser Perfection
The quality and construction of this B & W Circular Polarising filter is superb. I first tried it by pointing the lens at a display cabinet with glass windows, where items in the cabinet were difficult to see because of the reflections off the glass from a nearby window and items in the room were also being reflected off the glass. On slowly turning the filter and observing the image I was able to remove virtually all of the reflections. Cameras with optical-only viewfinders that do not see through the camera's lens will not see the effect of the filter and importantly won't be able to adjust it to best effect. If the camera has a live view in its viewfinder or LCD display or is an DSLR, then the effect of the filter will be easily seen.A circular polarising filter (CPL) serves several purposes in photography:Reducing Glare and Reflections: CPL filters are often used to reduce glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, and foliage. This can be particularly useful when shooting landscapes, where reflections can obscure details or wash out colors.Increasing Color Saturation: By reducing glare and reflections, CPL filters can enhance the saturation and vibrancy of colors in a scene. This is especially beneficial when photographing landscapes or scenes with vibrant colors, such as during sunrise or sunset.Improving Contrast: CPL filters can also improve the overall contrast in an image by darkening skies and increasing the differentiation between clouds and the sky. This can add depth and drama to landscape photographs.Enhancing Transparency: In some cases, CPL filters can enhance the transparency of certain materials, such as water or glass, allowing you to see through them more clearly. This can be useful when photographing subjects submerged in water or behind glass.Protecting the Lens: Additionally, CPL filters provide a layer of protection for the camera lens against scratches, dust, and other potential damage. It's easier and cheaper to replace a scratched filter than to repair or replace a lens.Overall, circular polarizing filters are valuable tools for photographers, allowing them to control reflections, enhance colors, and improve the overall quality of their images, particularly in outdoor and landscape photography.
