Very Solid tablet stand for 7" and 8" modern tablets
This is a POS (point of sale) tablet stand but it has many other uses in offices and homes. It is solidly built and well-made and heavy. You can optionally bolt it (mounting hardware included). If you don't bolt it, treat it like any other heavy item - don't place it near the edges of surfaces and pay attention to kids and pets. The device is ready to use out of the box. You only need tools/hardware/assembly if you want to bolt it to a surface. The height of the device is not adjustable, but the main surface rotates 360 degrees, it can go from perfectly flat to perfectly vertical. You can use it in portrait or landscape, with the angle of view adjusting from perfectly flat to perfectly vertical, in all directions of the horizon. This is very versatile. The tablets are held in place at the two opposing corners as seen in the picture. One corner is fixed (no adjustments). The other corner is adjustable, both in width of tablet and height of tablet. The adjustments are made independently to factor for tall and/or wide tablets. The adjustments stay in place until you change them again. The design minimizes blocking of ports on the device, since you can rotate both the tablet (with the software) and the device physically. Unless your tablet has ports on three or four of its corners. A close-up of the pictures should give you a good estimate. It fits modern tablets that are 7" and 8". It also fits the original 7" Kindle Fire (the one that shares the same shell as the Blackberry Playbook and is thicker than most of today's tablets). Modern 8" tablets fit as well, such as the Galaxy Note 8. I doubt any 9" tablets will fit, the Nook HD+ is simply too big to fit properly. If you have really old tablets (older than the original Kindle Fire), they may be too big, for example, I had a prehistoric 7" Pandigital with 4:3 aspect ratio (running Android 2.1 or something like that) and it is too big.The sturdiness is especially welcome if you are writing one-handed on a tablet with a stylus, especially a stylus/digitizer tablet like the Galaxy Note 8 and others with similar technology. For example, taking notes while talking on the phone. As far as ebook readers, the only one that fits properly is the Kindle with Keyboard. The other ereaders I tried are too short (Nook Simple Touch, Kindle Paperwhite, the simple Kindle with buttons) for a proper fit.If your tablets are in protective backs or cases or folios, it depends on how well they fit. In general, the bigger and fleshier the case, the lower the chances of a good fit. The grips are just under 5/8" deep, so you have flexibility there.Adventurous Users: if you are a higher risk user, and your device does not fit properly because either too big or too small, you can still use this by balancing the device in. You don't get a secure lock, so it is important to have it on a stable surface without kids/pets running around. You can balance it on one edge and use either dimension of the other edge, along with the angle of the device to have a balanced hold. I used this approach for devices as small as smartphones and the iPod Touch, and as large as 10-inch tablets. However, this is a high risk scenario, and not the intended use of this device. Consider it a bonus for adventurous users.UNBOXING: this is in a generic sturdy cardboard box (can be reused). Inside you will find the Instructions (two 8.5x11 sheets), filler material for packaging purposes, and of course the device covered in a see-through bag. The mounting hardware are in their one small resealable bag, taped to the bottom of the device. The mounting hardware consists of three nuts and three screws (both #8). In the bag you also find two keys if you want to lock the tablet in place (can be handy at home/office if you have guests/visitors/kids)

Solidly Made
This is perfect to use with the Square Credit Card Reader for our business. We use it with our iPad Mini for customers when paying by credit card and it works perfectly without any issues as customers swipe their cards and sign their names using their finger tip.Best of all it all it comes with screws to fastened the holder on to your counter and a security key lock so no one will be able to walk away with your tablet. You can also use your own cable lock for added protection if you wish. Can be turned to landscape or portrait mode, and easily rotates 360 degrees to accommodate viewing angles.I will only fit tablets from 7" to 8", it will NOT work with the iPad Air. I tried it with my iPad Air and it was too big to fit. One of the holding brackets is removable and can be positioned to another slot for smaller devices. It would of easily been a 5-star product if it would be able to fit the iPad and iPad Air models since that is what most businesses use for credit card transactions.Completely constructed of metal - no plastic pieces.

Multi Tasking Tablet Stand Makes Life A Breeze!
I got this in today and it is really wonderful. Made of steel and heavy weight I can now put my tablet on here and let it set so my hands don't get tired out. I broke both my wrists in the past so holding my tablet for any length of time really puts pressure on them and they start to bother me.This stand fits both 7" and 8" tablets and as you can see from the picture I have my Kindle Fire HDX 7" on the stand with the cover still on it. I didn't need to take my cover off to mount it which is wonderful. The only problem I had with it was it does not have a space notched out for the on/off button but there was just enough room for me to get under the edge to turn my tablet on.The stand head which holds the tablet pivots from portrait to landscape with ease and it adjusts the angle so that you can tip it more straight up or at an angle. The entire holder is made of steel and the clip edges that hold your tablet are coated in a think plastic to protect the edges where they come in contact. The base has three holes so that you can permantely mount the stand to a table or other piece of furniture to make it more secure. This is worth it's weight in gold if you need to multi task using your tablet and whatever else you're working on. Also would be great for when watching Netflix or any of the other services so that you don't have to hold it the entire time. I'm more than happy with this item.

Steel Stand Holds Our Samsung Tablet Securely
This steel stand is heavier and more protective than the usual home office case that can make a stand for smaller tablets. We’ve installed a Samsung tablet in it where it sits on our desk. It fits perfectly, holds the tablet securely, and will stay there as long as we want. The stand allows access to the button functions without removing the tablet, but it’s easy to remove the tablet for hand holding. This design is more appropriate for commercial uses than for the home office setup where we’ve placed it. It comes with screws to affix it permanently to a desk or counter. I certainly do not want it permanently fixed to my cherry desk, so it can move a bit along the slick desk surface. Used in business, the permanently installed stand can be rotated on a counter for customers to see what the company employee sees, and when the tablet is set on the stand and the security slot engaged, it is safe and cannot be removed by the customer. In spite of the fact that this stand is more appropriate for a commercial application than my home office, we’re using this stand to see and operate the tablet easily without laying it flat on the desk. It will be useful for a long time to come.FIVE STARS!
