Quite impressed with it to be honest. Done an amazing job on my water rowing machine. It is now algae free!

I used this to clear the water tank on a WaterRower rowing machine. I misread the instructions for the machine (did not add the requisite water purification tablet in a timely fashion). Algae had grown in the tank but after adding 1/4 cup of the APE PondCare the algae disappeared in a few days. I did change the water before treatment. Now I add the recommended water purification tablets and the water is crystal clear once more. This stuff works.

I have used almost all of the API products since we started keeping koi almost a decade ago. All the API products can be used together, if you have multiple issues. You need to be sure you are treating your problem with the right product at the correct dosage. That is why API has a product for every type of problem and explicit instructions. Every product I have tried, including this one, works very well when you follow directions. This particular product is no joke. Do not use this in water in which humans or domestic animals might drink. Only use in synthetically lined ornamental ponds.We have expanded several times, and we now have a 10,000-gallon pond. In our system we have a pump, filter, UV light, 2 bottom drains, a skimmer, and a sediment tank. I take water quality measurements every week using API tests, and occasionally issues will arise, even though we have a great system. By now you might be thinking I have stock in the API company, and maybe I should. I only recommend their products because this is what I have found works over trial and error.First, be sure you have the correct product for the problem. Sometimes there are subtle differences between products with the wording they use on the labels. Definitely test the water before you put in a product, so you know how drastic your problem is at that moment. For example, a lot of API products like this one say "eliminates troublesome organic sludge and debris and reduces noxious pond odors." However, the cause of those issues determines which product will be best for you. This product is to help get rid of those issues, when you have green algae.Second, no matter what product you are using, be sure to have an accurate measure of how much water you have in your pond and follow instructions for the correct dosage. Most people make mistakes in dosage because they don't know the volume of water in their pond. There are websites that help you calculate your pond volume that are easy to use. Many people don’t realize how the smallest increment of wrong dosage will negatively impact the results and possibly their fish. This particular product does not have a lot of wiggle room in dosage, so please be careful.Third, use the product for the correctly length of time. Most products for your pond, no matter your problem, are not one and done. Using some products for fish is like humans taking antibiotics…you might need to dose more than once and finish out the entire length of time for dosage. This product requires you to dose your pond twice a week for two weeks until you get to the maintenance dose.Hopefully, reading this review is helpful to you and your fish. Our koi pond this year was struggling with chlorella. It was constantly gumming up our filter because they were becoming so saturated. We know that chemical algaecides are not good for the fish and deprives of pond of oxygen, so it was nice to find something more natural. Bought this product based on other reviews, along with an API Sludge Destroyer product. Partial water change along with adding this product, and within just a day or 2 the improvement in water clarity was noticeable. Dosing is twice a week for 2 weeks then once weekly for maintenance. Just did the second dose a couple of days ago and our water is crystal clear. No more green water! Highly recommend this product!
