Pentel P205BP2K6 Sharp Mechanical Drafting Pencil, 0.5 mm, Black Barrel, 2/Pack

I bought this Pentel mechanical pencil to replace the exact same model after over 10 years of loyal service. The old one finally gave out when some lead jammed in the tip. No amount of poking could save it. A bit of rust had also appeared on the little metal ear that clips onto pockets. It was solid, comfortable, and always reliable. This new one feels just as good. Hopefully we'll get many decades together.

I'm always looking for a pencil when the voice on the phone asks: "Are to ready for these numbers???" Of course, I'm always asking them to send me an e-mail with the data, but it's not always practical for them or me. So, having a pencil with me (if there is a pocket in my shirt) and having one on each desk or work area I use a lot is important. And it has its own storage for leads (no sharpening) and they are cheap.These are good strong ones that last a long time. I've had to reorder a couple after about seven years of use of one I had originally. The only thing better than these is a few Micron pens when you need to have ink to jot or draw something you are working on. The ones from Sakura are great.

This is about the only pencil I use. And I have used this Pentel for several decades (replacing if lost or actually worn out).

I really like the balance and weight of this mechanical pencil, which is so important when you’re drawing so your hand and arms don’t fatigue easily. It’s not a complex product, but it works well and is well worth the price. I intend to buy 10 more so I never run out.
