A phone mount below the mirror seemed like a great idea, but I ended up finding it too distracting during routine driver scanning. Closer to, or just below, top of the dashboard is just as easy to check and not in the way or distracting — for me anyway.This was for an iPhone 13 in a '91 'Yota Hilux. I don't consider that mirror large at all, but it was a force fit for this clamp. Didn't break anything, but I could have. The clamps were deep enough for the mirror, but the way they adjust is to stick out into the passenger space instead of behind the mirror — so I had to cut off 1/2" of excess from each of the four corners to make a presentable installation.It is also a force fit for iPhone 13 in an Otterbox. Even with a tight fit, the phone is too heavy to remain in vertical position by holding only the sides. I wanted a horizontal orientation, and the clamp was secure for that.Ok, so it's in. Vibrates too much while the vehicle is in motion. Maybe barely tolerable on good pavement or at slow speeds. On mediocre pavement at speed, or gravel pretty much any time, it's a jackhammer. Worse than the effect on the phone, shaking transfers to the mirror, impairing its utility. That did it for me.DISCLAIMER: The breakaway mount of my rearview does allow a tiny bit of motion which I cannot tighten out of the fitting — that makes no discernible motion in ordinary use, but it becomes s a pretty big deal when magnified by the weight of the phone. I'm not sure whether flexing of the mount itself would allow problematic vibration. If your mirror is rock solid, maybe it would remain that way with the phone on it.

Overall this isn't bad for the price. It holds the phone nice and tight. I'm not thrilled about the way it attaches to my rear view mirror. It kind of just hangs there. It's ok for 3 or 4 hour trips, but anything longer would be annoying.

What I like about it is that I don’t have to be fighting with phone holders that rotate themselves while driving, or falling off as they don’t still well. With this holder you avoid the mentioned, only thing I am concerned now is that if my mirror base is going to be strong to hold the extra weight and for how along.As I said for GPS usage of your phone is a great idea to have this holder.PS… There were no instructions on the box.Tip. Pull by hand the small sliding pieces on all four corners beforehand as you attempt to install the holder and push back on the sliding tabs to secure your phone holder in place, once set it is very steady.

Great product.

This product puts your cellphone in a visible location and does not interfere with your rear view mirror. A down side is road vibrations will make your cellphone move a bit.

Very easy to set up. No assembly. However, I do have a "smart" rear view mirror with several built in buttons...so its thicker than the standard rear view. So the fit of the clamps is fine, but they do have the potential to interfere with the roadside, emergency, and/or garage door buttons on the rear view mirror.Also, I am using the Samsung Galaxy S3 Ultra....combined with a case, does add some weight to the phone....this weight occasionally causes the rear view mirror to shake while driving. The shaking causes the image to blur both in mirror and on the video I record using my phone as a dash cam.All and all, it's a good product. It does exactly what I need it to and the price was good.

Very hard to put on rear view mirror. You have to be very strategic in opening the clamps on each side, all at same time to get attached to mirror. I had to slowly wiggle back in fourth to even get it on without breaking it. I felt lucky I pulled it off. I think this product almost needs a 2nd set of hands to help leverage & pull opposite side clamps to safely install it. After I was able to mount the product clamps on my rear view mirror, they seemed sturdy. As for the part that holds the phone itself. It did fit my phone with a otter-box (not defender) cover with built in pop socket to it. I have a iPhone 11 MaxPro. It is a little hard to put my phone in this product. Definitely a 2 hands, be focused to not break the product or drop your phone due to difficulty. The really disappointing part for me was the pivotal part that holds your phone in your desired placement. The pivotal part is not strongly secured. The weight of my phone will stay put, but it'll fall like gravity pulling. Any slight movement or bump & the pivotal part adjust down making my phone screen face the floor. I purchased in hopes to use this as a reliable source for hands free, safe visual tool to aid my when using Maps/GPS use. The weakness in the pivital part makes me feel very unsafe that this is not going to be hands free or a reliable tool when driving... Concept of product is awesome. I really wish this would've worked. I returned it the next day. I don't trust it while driving.

Great product, arrived quick and is very durable, only disadvantage is that the piece that holds the phone so it can swivel up and down dont tighten up enough and the phone continues to tilt downwards so I have to continue lifting it, other then that all is good so far..

It looked like it'd be a good product but it does not fit a Dodge Ram pickup truck, money wasted.

Not fit for toyota sienna model 2018 and above bcoz of the mirror are big.
