This is Not Like the Ones of Old By A Lot
I've got one that is 20+ years old and I never fear it breaking when I use it on even the most stubborn Kevlar tires. The new one is a much stiffer and brittle feeling material. If it's nylon it's not the same recipe by far.I still love the shape and design , along with its length, but the lack of flex doesn't inspire confidence to use this on a new Kevlar tire mounting for its first time. The price was nice also and it arrived before the scheduled date so that's another plus.If I use it and it doesn't break I'll come back and edit this review and add the other star

A must have tire tool
I read all the reviews and they were all glowing except for one who claimed the tool ripped a tire bead. I've been using the Quik Stik for over 20 years and knew plenty of people who also used them, and not one time have I ever heard of this tool ripping a bead, and if you look at the way it's constructed you'll see that it's impossible for that to happen unless the bead was damaged before the tool was used on it or somehow the rim damaged the bead as the tool was being used perhaps incorrectly or perhaps a burr on the rim.Anyway, the Quik Stik comes with easy to understand instructions, however the instructions does lack in one area of possible tire removal problem, some rims and tires today are very tightly fitted and there isn't enough space to slide the Quik Stik between so you have to carry a set of tire irons to start the removal process. Again due to tight fitting tires and rims plastic irons will and can break therefore use the Soma Steel Core tire irons instead, they're made of thick plastic so there's nothing to damage the rim with but with a core of steel so they won't snap like all plastic levers. You slide a lever under the bead and lift the bead up and over the rim edge and lock the lever's hook onto a spoke, insert a second lever about two inches from the first and repeat. Now in between the two levers insert the Quik Stik under the tire as the instructions say to do so, then remove one of the levers and slide the Quik Stik around the rim to remove the tire per the instructions. If you want the fastest way to remove a tire the Quik Stik is the only answer.

I naively expected that the reference to 'Tire Levers' in ...
I naively expected that the reference to 'Tire Levers' in the plural implied there would be more than one, since I have no idea what '1/CD' means. Also, some reviews refer to instructions, but none were included. Add the fact that delivery took 20 days, and I'm unimpressed.

my favorite tire lever
For some reason, probably a combination of physics and safety, any front studded tire I've ever mounted for winter commuting is always curseably tight. Regular tire levers break, steel cored tire levers deform my rim, and whenever I flat out in sub zero temperatures with the wind howling and motorists joyfully pointing at the idgit riding his bike as they drive past, I curse out loud like a crazy man for not either having bought and hauled around and actual motorcycle tire lever, or...I've left my quick stick in another bike bag. Since discovering these tire levers, I no longer dread winter flats. With this order I have finally gotten out in front of my own forgetfulness and ordered enough to keep one in every bike bag and tool kit.The only problem you have to watch out for is for gouges in the plastic after using it on a stubborn tire. These can create a sharp edge that might damage a tube. Luckily, your tube patch kit has piece of sand paper you can use to quickly file down any spurs that develop.

Essential when removing a tire from the bike wheel
Who knew I could become a bike mechanic?! Thanks to a YouTube video, I learned how to remove a tire from the bike wheel, and the suggestion to get one of these was very helpful.

Not Something I Can Recommend
I kept seeing reviews for these and how 'amazing' they are. I would like to see what they are being used for - road tires, beach cruisers, mountain bikes or? They are huge, clunky and simply not a good idea in any form for use on a 700x23,25,28 tire. I typically never use tire levers anyhow and only my thumbs, unfortunately one of my new sets of tubeless are EXTREMELY tight and I need 'something' the first time I put on a new set. Once they've been on the wheel once, I can manage on and off without levers. Anyway, these seem decently made for a plastic rod with some shape and may be the best thing ever for some users, that is great! For me, they are not something I can recommend.

No black cover on the lever like the picture but still works good.
This tire lever works great. Can use with tight fitting tires and won't bend lever. Wish the lever had the black handle cover on it like the picture shows. Is easier on the hands with the handle cover. I've owned one for years with a black handle cover on it, that was the reason I purchased it here only to find it didn't come with the handle cover like the picture shows. Could have and would have purchased cheaper elsewhere without cover but wanted one that had handle cover on it. Very dissapointing.

Nice to have
The Quik Stik is nice to have for those hard to mount tires. Does a good job and everyone should be ready with one in you bag.
