Great tools for cyclists
Not much to say other than this chain master link tool works well. Parks makes good, reliable cycling tools. I own several of their tools and none has ever disappointed.

Makes installing and removing missing links painless and quick
If you've ever tried to connect a SRAM Powerlink or a KMC Missing Link, you know that sometimes it's a piece of cake, but most of the time it's not so graceful. I've worked with chains enough to merit trying the Parktool MLP 1.2 pliers out, and it was worth it. The pliers feel quality, with a nice rubberized coating on the handles. To remove (disconnect) a link, you simply stick the tips of the pliers on the outside of the chain rollers where your link is, and squeeze. With little effort, the chain link is disengaged and easily removed. No more fidgeting with a screwdriver, or two pairs of needle nosed pliers - the MLP 1.2 does the job swiftly. To install (connect) a link, it's basically the same - stick the tips in between the chain rollers where the link is, and pull the tool open - no slamming the pedal down, no tugging at opposite chain ends - once again, the MLP 1.2 does the job in mere seconds. The specially shaped plier ends is the secret - they are perfectly shaped to grab a chain roller. If I had to nitpick the product, I guess the only tiny complaint (not enough to remove a star) is that you have to use two hands to pull apart the plier arms when installing a link, but that really doesn't bother me. If I really needed one hand-operated tools, KMC sells separate "opening" and "closing" chain link pliers, but those two tools will cost an extra $6 compared to the equally capable MLP 1.2, without needing twice the rook in my tool box. Finally, the $15 price is fine for a high quality and ultra useful tool.

Yes it works to both open and close quick links
A couple of reviews say that you can't use this to close the link. It worked just fine for me both opening and closing. For closing the link, you can't put the arms in the actual link, you put them on the links on either side and then pull the handles apart.

PARK TOOLS - chain repair tool
If you ride a bicycle regularly like I do, and you also maintenance your own bike then you will find this tool incredibly useful! With it you can readily remove your chain's 'speed link', then remove or replace your chain and again use this two-way tool to reconnect your chain using its speed-link.Its so easy, I now just remove my chain to clean it, drop it into a can or small jar with grease cleaning solution or even Dawn Soap. After thorough cleaning and drying, I use this same Park chain tool to reconnect my clean chain to the bike. Then I reapply chain lube and set it soak in overnight. Let's ride!

Very simple but O.K
Wish there was a screw to hold the two parts but instead there is some sort of metal press the doesn't look so durable .That is why I took one star. The fact that it is simple is pros not consThe plier metal itself looks o.k - It is a parktool - That is your insurance and I have read that such item from other companies tend to bend.
