Scoop-Free & Stress-Free: The Easiest Way to Handle Cat Litter!
The PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Pro is a self-cleaning litter box that takes care of the dirty work for you. After your cat uses it, the box automatically rakes the waste into a covered compartment—no scooping needed! It uses special crystal litter that absorbs odors and dries out the poop, so your home smells fresh. The litter is low-dust and doesn’t track everywhere, which keeps your floors cleaner. You only need to change the tray every few weeks, making it super convenient. However, the disposable trays can be a bit expensive over time, especially if you have more than one cat. Most cats get used to it quickly, but some might not like the feel of the crystals. It’s also a bit large, so make sure you have enough space.

Less mess, less smell, less work
My cat isn’t finicky so I purchased this litter box without the hood. I placed it on the bottom shelf of a tank stand to hide the litter box. It isn’t unappealing but the fact it’s the cats bathroom, I wanted it away from looking at most of the day. It’s small enough to put almost anywhere and leaving it out alone would have been just fine too if that’s your preference as it is a lot more appealing to the eye than your normal littler box. Once again I don’t have the big hood on it. My cat loves it! I have been using pet safe crystals for years and finally decided to buy the litter box. It works as it should. And it hides the poo which my cat isn’t great at doing. I used to be able to tell when my cat took a poo, now I just check the number count on the side because I never know and I am definitely not complaining about that. I also love the fact how easy it is to set up. How it scoops and stirs the crystals so all I have to do is wait for the life cycle of the crystals to be done to switch out the litter pan and crystals. I have chosen to use the disposable. It just seems cleaner to me but again that’s preference. Part of the point of the litter box for me was less hassle and smell. I don’t want to forget to mention how quiet the litter box is! I never know when it’s doing its “thing”… and I also love the fact that my cat isn’t in there constantly digging or trying to bury her scent by pawing at the sides. One of the reasons I left the hood out because of this and I would hear her at night constantly while I was trying to sleep. You can hear anything in my house when your a light sleeper. Pet safe automatic litter box was well worth the investment!

Not worth purchasing
I've tried to chat with customer service for questions about this litter box, but I keep getting sent to an invalid page.Positives: I was happy to pay the lower price for this self cleaning litter box. It was easy to put together and simple enough to see how it works.Problem 1: keeps getting jammed because the rake can't finish cleaning. The plastic trap door, that is supposed to lift up and allow the rake to push the waste into the collection bin, keeps falling off and this stops the rake. I have to keep resetting the door to get the rake to move. This has happened when it's been newly cleaned, and of course when it's been used. The lid gets smeared with waste, so it has to be cleaned. The waste that doesn't go into the bin gets stuck on the wrong side of the box. So now, I have to pick all of that out to dispose of (I do use disposable gloves). Unfortunately, this happens at least once a day.Problem 2: I chose to get the stainless steel tray, after trying the disposable one that came with it. I was hoping this would reduce the cost of using this specific litter box. Plus, I have 4 cats so I have to clean the waste bin regularly, and the disposable ones are too expensive for me. I kept the other "old fashioned" box in use because I've always used at least 2 boxes. However, because the bin on this new one is too narrow to fit a scoop, I have to use disposable gloves to remove the waste.Overall, this hasn't saved me from having to remove the waste less often, but in fact much more often. I have to use gloves to fix it, clean it, etc., which I didn't have to do with the old box. There are several design improvements that need to be made to improve the function of this box.Suggestions: Make the plastic bin cover more secure when seated. Have the rake lift slightly higher to keep it from getting stopped by the bin cover. Make the receptacle deeper AND wider to get a scoop in it. OR, make the bin removable so it can be emptied easily.I will definitely know what to look for should I buy another "self cleaning" litter box.Update: As of today, June 25, 2025, I've not been contacted by the vendor, manufacturers, or Amazon. I'm disappointed that they have no resolution to the issues I described. The issues I've reported continue, and now there's a new one. The cover to the waste bin, keeps coming off, and some of the waste falls to the floor. There's no way I can secure it, as that would restrict it from being able to lift.My adult daughter, who helps me with clear he litter boxes, has.ended up just carrying the bottom tray out to dispose of the waste. So, that means I have to use more litter than the old fashioned box. Please note before you buy this, THERE IS NO REFUND OR OFFER TO REPLACE. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE LINK PROVIDED.
