🔄 Upgrade Your Legacy: Transform the Old into the New!
The 2.5 inch SATA to 3.5 inch IDE Adapter allows you to effortlessly install modern SATA hard drives into older PATA systems. With a female SATA port, male PATA port, and a 4-pin Molex power connector, this adapter supports ATA 100/133 and boasts a data transfer rate of up to 3.0 Gbps, making it an essential tool for tech-savvy professionals looking to bridge the gap between old and new technology.

Needs to be at end of IDE cable!
I used this to put a SATA III SSD on my IDE bus - and it worked but the data rate is under 3MBps. This renders it unusable. Plus whenever I do anything to the mounted SATA drive (open it, copy to it) my system gets hung up for like 10 seconds. So this adapter is useless to me.It's not really worth the hassle of returning so I will try something else.UPDATE: when I moved this to the end connector on the IDE cable (nothing else on cable), it suddenly came to life! So cable termination is muy importante, as in all high-speed data transfer applications. I'm now getting 30-80MBps with a SATA SSD, at least twice what the old hard drive will do. Works great! So, update to 5 stars.

Warning! You may damage your computer if you use this
If you inspect an 3.5" IDE drive you notice that the ide cable slotted key on the connector is in the same direction as the shorter end of the power connector (the short side of the trapizoid). On this adapter it is the opposite! I tried anyway and it shorter the power supply. I was very lucky not to damage the computer I connected this to. This is dangerous!

not a good choice for Original Xbox
this adapter causes stuttering, lockup and IGR not to work when used in a OG Xbox that has a Thomson DVD drive. it is better on non-thomson drives , but still mild gets stuttering. IDK why as it has same chipset as better adapters, but i tried 2 of them with same results. also this does not have master/slave jumper pin if you need those (you can add them as the holes are there).but those only matter for softmods using chimp and dont matter at all for real mods.

Works just as it should, could use some insulation underneath.
I used this to enable me to use an older, 80 GB SATA drive in my Power Mac G4 with only an ATA interface. It truly is plug and play; it just works in there. One thing, however: on the SATA side facing the drive, there are all the bare solder points for the power and ATA headers facing toward the bare drive...which is metal. They just miss touching the drive, but I covered these all with electrical tape just to be sure there would not be a short.

Easy install
Corrected a mistake I made when I purchased a sata hard drive instead of an IDE drive.
