I think something on the site helped me know it had good chance. SOOOOO much cheaper than buying a whole new French press! Been using it months now, no issues, no cracks in the glass, excellent buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Cost effective replacement *by P***A on January 10, 2012* I bought this to replace the broken glass of my Bodum 8 cup French press I purchased from Starbucks. The replacement beaker fits well. The beaker fits perfectly in its holder and the press fits perfectly in the beaker. This is a cheaper alternative to the actual Bodum replacement. The coffee still tastes great!UPDATE 08-27-12: I reduced this to 3 stars from the original 5. While the beaker fits well and still makes great-tasting coffee, when I fill the beaker to the near top to make a full pot of coffee, the beaker leaks terribly when I pour. The coffee has to be poured VERY carefully when the pot is full so that it does not leak down the sides. But to do that, it requires much concentration. Too much, in my opinion, to just pour coffee into the mug. It is such a common occurrence that for anyone who pours that first or second cup of coffee there are always leaks down the side. My guests are always apologizing for the mess! Leaking does not occur after the first two cups are poured out. While it is not really a big deal, it is definitely an annoyance, especially because we use this coffee pot all the time! I now pour over the sink so I don't have to deal with the leaking and each time wish I spent the money on the original Bodum beaker that never leaked. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The outside diameter is a tiny bit larger than the Bodum original *by A***. on August 15, 2013* The quality of this beaker is fine, I can't really discern any quality difference between it and the Bodum glass it replaced.That said, it did not fit easily into my Bodum "Brazil" base; it actually split the base open. The inside diameter seems close enough, though. The Bodum plunger works fine in it.This wasn't a deal-killer for me.
