Rapid Ring RP31000 Plumber Putty Ring

This putty ring was purchased based on the recommendation of my new faucet's install instructions. Actually, it just said some plumber's putty would be needed to seal the top of the drain plug to the sink bowl. Of course there's a rubber gasket on the underside of the bowl, but you will need something to seal on the top! Amazon sells many pails of putty, but I wanted 'quick and easy'. Let me tell you it is just that!Pros:-No touching messy putty! It comes in a small envelope with a square of plastic on each side. Just peel one side, place it where needed, then peel the other side.-No waste. Just the right amount for a standard vanity drain. You're not left with a tub of extra putty that will just get hard sitting in your closet. If you have multiple vanities to install new drains on there is a multi-pack that is a much better deal.Cons:-Price. It costs as much as an entire pail of standard plumber's putty, but like I said earlier it depends on how much you need and how much you want to mess with it. In the big picture of my bathroom remodel this was a minor expense.Overall:This really was the easiest thing I did for my bathroom! After painting, flooring, new sink/faucet/drain, and everything else I encountered on my first real remodel, it was nice to have something I didn't have to think about. 5 stars for a great product well worth the cost!Jae

Although it is just a ring of plumbers putty, it worked really well. It was a bit on the high side of price for what it was, but it did the job quite nicely.

I had to do some shaping to get this to work. It wasn't circular and was flatter on one side than the other. I made it work. Still beat buying a tub and not using but just a tiny bit.

A little pricey for what it is, but for a novice or if you don't want to buy a whole tub, this is it.

Just buy a small container for half the price. Who knows when you might need it again, anyways.
