Enjoyable to read and also instructional
I am just beginning to learn the practice of tea leaf reading. I liked this book’s conversational tone and the inclusion of the duos background story and it being interwoven throughout the instructional side of tea leaf reading. There were many useful pointers that I did not learn from other books.

A must read for those wanting to learn!
Reading the Tea Leaves by Sandra Mariah Wright and Leanne Marrama is the most informative and comprehensive guide to learning how to practice tea leaf reading that I have ever read. I continue to reference this book even after reading it for their section on interpreting the meanings of symbols as a great resource. Wonderful insights from both authors in their sharing of anecdotes of their personal experiences reading and using the mysteries of the tea leaves. And for those who are into cooking, there’s also a great section on recipes for treats to both enjoy and set the atmosphere for the tea leaf readings. And as an added bonus, there is a great reference section on why they use each ingredient in the recipes to enhance your psychic abilities. For those serious about learning, whether a novice or experienced reader, this is the book I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn or experience the messages this ancient art of divination holds. I would give it more then 5-stars if I could!

A must-have for the library!
The last time I went to HexFest in New Orleans, I had the pleasure of sitting in on a workshop on reading tea leaves with Sandra Mariah Wright and Leanne Marrama, and it was awesome. I knew next to nothing about the subject when I went in the door, and a whole lot more about it by the time I left. Fast forward to today, when I finished reading their book "Reading the Leaves", and I'm convinced that most of my witchy friends would love it, and several of my non-witchy friends as well. It's interesting and informative, professional yet friendly and personal. They managed to create something that felt like a personal conversation, but was absolutely a great educational experience. It's not just about divination, it's also about how to curate an experience for others so all participants can share in a relaxed setting, open to new ideas and insights. I'll probably go back and re-read it just for the pleasure of it all. What a truly marvelous book!

A warm introduction to tea leaf readings!
The book was crisp and new when it arrived and I was so excited to read it I got halfway through on the first day!!! I’ve wanted to learn tasseography for years and recently overcame my fears of divination tools. This book made me feel so comforted in tea, and got me excited about making my own place to enjoy a cup of tea while reading leaves. If you are someone even remotely interested in the history of tasseography, please purchase this book. I will be saving this for years! Not only is it informative, but there are also prompts within the book for symbolism! Not to mention a few recipes for your tea leaf reading ritual. This book is everything I hoped for in my curiosity of tasseography. I really hope these two authors create more books together, maybe even about different topics.

Not just another "how-to" book
I knew nothing about tea leaf readings. Never had one done, never read about it. But I had heard that this book would be entertaining as well as informative, so I pre-ordered it back in August. It just arrived. This book has plenty of information on exactly how tea leaf readings are done, what to do to prepare, how to interpret the images formed by the leaves. It also has many anecdotes from the authors' lives, recipes and fun facts. Quite entertaining, and well-worth the long wait! Likely I will never become a tea leaf reader, but having read this book I am very interested in getting it done, and have a better understanding of the whole process. Thank you Sandra and Leanne! Now some of my coworkers want their own copies!

Great book!
I was looking for a book to learn how to read tea leaves, and this was exactly what I was looking for! I really like that the book says anyone can learn to read tea leaves. What got me interested in tea leaf readings is growing up hearing this story about my grandma getting her tea leaves read when her and my mom were young and visiting Greece to see relatives. The lady said that the leaves showed that my grandma was pregnant. My grandma and my mom were very confused and didn't believe it, but it turned out to be true! My aunt was born about 8 months later.

Enjoyable read and informative
What a wonderful little book! I’m new to the idea of tea leaf divination, and this book is jammed pack with details while also being an easy and enjoyable read. It has a little bit of history about tea in general, tea leave readings, and the personal history of the authors. It breaks down what is needed and what to look for when doing tea divinations. While reading, it felt like I was reading advice you’d hear from counselors/therapists (ie grounding, mindfulness, environments, mantras), which as a professional school psychologist myself, was a great thing to read in here. I liked the glossary of images and interpretations, and the exercise examples. It invoked optimism and faith.
