I saw the description for the unit and was a little hesitant to buy it, but for the price I took a chance. Glad I did.Pros: Small, discreet, light weight, very easy to use, works great. Audio and adjustable level alert. Battery life is fantastic ~ 19 days. Measured a known test source and the unit was very accurate. Shows current levels, and accumulated dose. PC software for data logging. Excellent buy for the price. I would buy another.Cons: No back light on the display. The display may be a slightly difficult to read for older people.Helpful hint: It has a lanyard but if you carry it in your pants pocket place the clip the front button side to help keep it from turning on.Update:It was about 3 months after I purchased the Radex One that I had a minor problem. The secondary clear protective cover that protects the LCD screen detached from the unit. It is held in place by a clear glue. I emailed Quarta Rad with the Amazon order info and asked for a replacement LCD cover. The Regional Manager, Dmitry replied that the Radex One had a 1 year warranty and they were shipping out a new replacement unit, and to simply ship the old unit back usps. I received the new one 2 days later. Wow talk about fast and eager to please, these guys went way above anything I expected. If you need a compact accurate Geiger / Dosimeter at a good price, this is definitely the one to get. Quarta-Rad, you ROCK!I have had this unit for a year now. The Radex One is a perfect grab and go unit. The compact size makes it very easy to take along, and discrete to use. The fast 10 second response time for the first reading is impressive with the best reading after 30 seconds.The sensitive internal geiger tube runs virtually the length of the unit, which places it in class with much larger hand held units. There is a vibration and soft audio alert that can be enabled as well as an adjustable received dose level alert. The battery life is fantastic ~ 19 days of continuous use with an energizer battery. I measured a known test source and the unit was very accurate, within a small percent of a unit that was 4 times as expensive. The display shows current levels, and accumulated dose. PC software for data logging. Excellent buy for the price. I would recommend it for anyone and I would buy another.

The 10 second sample rate is fine for my usage. I cannot comment on battery life as I have not used it for long enough to speculate. As far as accuracy, I have a sample of uranium ore that I keep to use to test these kinds of instruments and it is within its design parameters in what it reads for my sample. It isnt a 'rough duty' device, but the quality appears OK for indoor lab use. How long it lasts is going to determine if its a good value.

Extremely compact, very sensitive, and far more sleek than their older designs. It's still not the pinnacle of industrial design (for that, you will need to wait for Apple iRad), and it is not particularly rugged (so don't drop it and don't expose it to elements) - but it certainly does the job. It is definitely the nicest and best-designed Geiger counter in this price range.Keep in mind that the upper limit on this device is around 1 mSv/h. This is more than enough for assessing the consequences of more distant radiation accidents, for playing around with uranium ore samples, or for testing food or soil, but - it is probably not the kind of a detector you want if you're seriously worried about living through some kind of a nuclear apocalypse, since it maxes out way below levels that are immediately hazardous to life.Oh, be mindful that this thing has a tiny LCD display, and that you need to crack open the manual if you want to change any settings.

Made in Russia. Great idea, poor execution. Buyer beware, this is made in Moscow, Russia. To see the data on the device you have to install a 'data server' on your computer which does not work. The website links to a download that says to install Radex Data Center. Norton goes bananas and tells you NOT to install. The program does not work, the USB connection to the device via USB worked the first time I connected it but then refused to see the device on the next attempt. Being prevented from seeing the evidence. I'm a gang stalking victim. "They" are shooting gamma rays at me and this thing really tells you when your being hit. Gamma guns is the best I can do to describe the device being used, the Radex One gives off not a single alarm but double and triple chirp in less than a second when I get hit with a radiation burst. Throughout the day you will see random chirps that are stray particles flying through the air. Its the double and triple chirps that warn to stay away from open windows. Yes this is no hoax. Bad guys exist.

This is a very nice unit for an excellent price. I wanted to check the granite countertops in my home and generally reassure myself that we were in a safe environment. I already had a radon detector which has shown that my home is borderline. This unit will detect other types of radiation including cosmic ray exposure in flight I took it on a long haul flight and the readings corresponded with the FEMA website values. The price is brilliant. The only drawback of this unit is the small size. It can easily be mislaid and if you are like me you will want to take it everywhere. I’m adding some pictures showing the display values on a recent long haul flight. Highly recommend.

Also das Gerät ist toll, aber die englische Ein-Blatt-Gebrauchsanweisung ist winzig. Die 2 schwarzen Tastensymbole im winzigen Schaltdiagramm sind dunkelblau hinterlegt. Ich sehe also nur blauschwarze Kästchen.Da ich leider schon mit der Alterskurzsichtigkeit zu tun habe, muss ich durch die Lesebrille (oder den Leseteil der Gleitsichtbrille gucken) sowie mit einer starken Taschenlampe auf das Diagramm leuchten um erkennen zu können, ob ich jetzt den einen oder den anderen der zwei Schalter auf dem Gerät drücken soll.Die französische Gebrauchsanweisung ist zum Glück einen Ticken größer und ich kann zum Glück auch Französisch.

Acquistato ad un prezzo onesto di 118,95 €, ottimo prodotto, in attesa che sia nuovamente disponibile, ne acquisterò un altro e lo regalerò. Molto semplice da usare, tascabile e facilmente trasportabile, dosimetro e misuratore in tempo reale.

La valutazione è così bassa in quanto è un prodotto che è stato restituito in quanto è giunto non funzionante.

Für Euro 114.- bestes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Empfindliches SBM20-1 Zählrohr wie bei viel teureren Geräten. Beipack-AAA-Batterie war nach 10 Tagen DAUERBETRIEB leer. Vorsicht, bei manchen Geräten anderer Hersteller ist eine Lithium- Batterie eingelötet. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Geräten sehr klein. Die einfache, übersichtliche Software für Langzeitmessungen macht auch Geräteeinstellungen sehr einfach. Für "Normal-Anwender" absolut ausreichend!

H29.11月に購入。β線も検知するとの事ですが、γ、β別では測れないので、何の核種が来てるかは不明の為あくまで目安として使用。PCに繋げばデータ取る事も可能ですが、バックグラウンド機能無しの為スリープになると欠測。半年経過頃よりエラー表示が頻繁に出るようになり、電池交換しても改善されなかったので購入したショップへ問い合わせたところ、修理ではなく無償で新品と交換してもらえました。対応も早く、非常に良いショップでした。
