Perfect for getting started!
The finger guide, poster and book are all excellent and worth the price. I’m just getting back to learning the violin, and the guide makes it so much easier! Seller communicated effectively, it was package well and shipped promptly; highly recommend.

Teaching yourself? This is perfect.
On a whim, my daughter and I decided to pick up violins to try to learn. After seeing this guide online, I decided to give it a try. I definitely like the idea that it portrays. The guide was a little hard to put on initially, but I found after putting my 2nd one on, that if you gently stretch it , ever so slightly, then it adheres to itself fairly nicely. The instructions tell you to do this and to keep it clean when you put it on, but if you don't, and get in a rush like I did the 1st time, you may find wrinkles in the guide and It doesn't stick very well. Follow the instructions and it will be great! I have been playing with it now for about a week and the guide has stayed on just fine. I'm only beginning, which is what this is meant for, but I can imagine that once I get better, my thumb may not slide as easily on the neck. Just a thought but I am ecstatic to have it as I like to teach myself things!

I love this! It makes practicing violin
I love this! It makes practicing violin, finger placement, and note learning so much easier and faster. I'm 24 and have only just begun learning, so I'm not too worried about it hampering my ability to actually learn the sound or placement of the notes, I feel like when I become more proficient, it will be lime muscle memory. I opted to get the fretboard attachment, poster and book, as I need all the help I can get. The fretboard attachment is not terribly difficult to place, I didn't get it right the first time, but I didn't get to the point of frustration either. The poster is very convenient to have to glance at while practicing and the book is laid out well and easy to follow. This is a small business, and the owners are great about customer service, and very supportive and encouraging.

Great for the self-taught
I am an adult beginner violinist and thought this would be a useful tool for learning the notes and finger positions. With the finger guide and book I was playing a few simple songs within a week or so, however, I outgrew this very quickly and decided to take it off. I found that I was relying on the visual placement of the fingers according to the guide which was throwing off my intonation and ability to play without staring at the fingerboard. The guide was easy to install and remove, and stayed in place to serve its purpose. I would recommend this to those who are self-teaching from the start, but once you learn the notes and finger placements or take lessons from a professional instructor, take it off.

This really helped my daughter to learn the concept of flats, sharps and key signatures. Highly recommended.
My daughter got stuck on the concept of flats and sharps in her studies of the violin. I decided to get the "Fretless Finger Guide", having used the guide before for myself but I had lost it.I am glad I got the guide, the book and the chart! Everything I wanted to explain was on pages 4, 5 & 6 of the book. The colors made it easy for my child to learn how to play the flats and sharps, and now she understands the concept. I'm learning this myself, and this really helped us both. The color coding really makes it easy and clear to explain so that even a frustrated 11 year old can quickly understand. We frequently used "violin for dummies" as a note reference, but now we can just check the handy reference chart.

Works Perfectly
When we purchased the Fretless finger guides we were simply just hoping it would aid my daughter in learning the correct sounds of the notes, not necessarily finger position in which she already had a good handle on being a first time player. But to our surprise she was learning more from the guide and manual in the first 25 minutes than in the 3 weeks she had been practicing. (she is teaching herself how to play) with in the first 25 minutes she was able to learn how to place her fingers just right to develop different sounds from the same string, something her $50 lesson book did not explain. An with in the first hour, she was playing Ode to Joy almost perfectly (something she couldn't master with the other lesson book) Very Impressed with how this inexpensive tool has helped my daughter blossom into a beautiful violinist and better understand other lesson books when they don't provide the necessary instruction!! A must have for beginners!!! Highly recommended!!

Well worth the money,
I love this thing! It helped me, a complete self taught newbie, where to place your fingers in order to produce something that sounds like music, not just noise. I had to adjust it slightly (read slide it down the neck a bit) in order to hit the notes correctly, but other than that it's been great.I took a star away because it has started to curl a bit on the back side and at the top by the neck after about 6 months of fairly regular play. This could be due to my sweaty palms or perhaps repeatedly adjusting it in the beginning when I was trying to dial it in.
