Enjoyable and information read
Max once again hits it out of the park with his new book. This is a great follow-up to his first book, beginning by building upon the dietary recommendations he described in Genius Foods and then launching into a full-blown lifestyle guide. Max uses well-cited and solid evidence in a concise way that is persuasive but not overwhelming. He manages to present a ton of useful information in a very clear and communicative way, and presents a straightforward way of incorporating his plethora of tips into your own lifestyle.Max is fantastic at relating to his readers. There were so many times reading this book that made me think "Oh, that happens to me all the time!" or "Oh, my mom / brother / best friend could really learn from this paragraph here!" Multiple times I found myself taking a snap of a passage in the book and texting it some friend or family member. (I sent a paragraph about healthy eating and its impact on anxiety to my brother, and the next day got a picture back of his uncharacteristically healthy shopping cart!)I appreciate that Max sticks to his beliefs regardless of critics or sponsors, but at the same time is open minded and willing to revise his opinion should the evidence indicate. For example, in his first book he recommended consuming a specific number of grams of carbs per day, but in Genius Life he updated that recommendation to take into account individual's lifestyle and personalized goals.I've been following Max for a while, but I still feel like I learned a ton from this book, and I've already made a few easy but significant tweaks to my own life (like throwing out all those paraben containing beauty products on my shelves and buying organic strawberries.) Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experiences Max!

eye opening and healing
I got this book because my mom has Alzheimer’s. I started the diet recommendations and within weeks felt better than I had in years. Arthritis greatly diminished, migraines virtually disappeared, sleep better. My brain hasn’t made as many improvements as my body, but I’m deeply grateful for this book.

What are you waiting for!!?!
...your genius life hit me on a cellular level this past month when I flew home and spent possibly the best father/daughter time together in years... he ended up hospitalized - possibly at the lowest point of mental health imaginable after almost 6 years of being my Mom’s primary caregiver ... aaaaand sooo now I’m writing you again to share your podcasts, your books and interviews have allowed me to share the power of HOPE with now both my Father and my Mom!! You've inspired ME, which in turn has impacted my father, friends AND MS PE students to take ACTION & OWNERSHIP OF THEIR LIVES so that this can be the start of the BEST decade ever!!! It all comes down to brain love baby ❤️❤️... and all the other genius goodness you talk about in your books ... I’ve even registered for Emily Fletcher’s meditation course .... your final principles in Genius Life could and should actually all have chapters dedicated to them also... especially the be kind to animals ❤️❤️So incredibly grateful to have you in my universe on sooo many intense beautiful levels... your TED Talk and genius foods book are what inspired me to write you a genuine love letter from my Mom , my brain and my heart and soul almost 1 month ago to your Facebook feed, and NOT being a 'public/social media' kinda gal.... know the IMPACT your work has had on improving my relationships with my family, friends and students is priceless... HIGHLY RECOMMEND this BOOK for ANYONE looking to POUNCE on LIFE!

Mostly ok
Got this book to review it for a friend dealing with some cognitive loss.Food info, exercise, sleep part ok.What is not ok is the Seek Mystical Experience. Almost no valid research has been done there. And using drugs is part of what is wrong with many people in the first place.Too bad, most of rest of the book can be helpful.
