My 27 yr old daughter Casey and five of her friends (Aidan, Cory, Chris, Kevin, Kaitlyn) decided to go camping. They aren't campers but they wanted to rough it at a campsite. I was trained for camping years ago because I was a girl scout leader. Some of the campers families use RV's. My eldest daughter bought a 10 person tent even though it is just her husband and 2 yr old son on an impulse buy. So Casey was trying to figure out what she needed for making a fire and wanted to bring wood and newspapers, I told her they could make firestarters and they were intrigued but they never got around to it - knowing this group as soon as I suggested firestarters for them I went on Amazon and purchased them. They came home this past weekend and I asked how it went and they said that they made so many fires that they had to purchase more wood at the campsite. I asked how the firestarters were and they said they were perfect just what they needed. The campfire was quick and easy to start. They had a blast camping that they are going to do it more to travel upstate NY again and we will be definitely be using and ordering these firestarters again. THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING! Today, we ordered a second bag of these starter bricks. It's sad that I will no longer be able to watch and chuckle while my husband struggles to get charcoal brickettes to light up at the beach (with the wind and fickle weather). It really was one of the most amusing things. He would get so frustrated! But this last trip, he had the GTS Fire Starter bricks and the grill was happily lit up in less than 2-3 minutes. Disappointingly, I missed out as I was still prepping the food. So, instead of watching him get frustrated, we sat back and watched the grill together. I'll miss his funny faces.

They seemed small at first glance but man did they work well. It wasn't hard to get them lit! Once they we're burning the fat wood caught and we were off to a good start. No smell from these. I would definitly recommend as a wood starter.

I've used this over the last few weeks to build fires in my fireplace. I place it on the bottom, with twigs and kindling on top, then smaller logs, etc. These burn for enough time to get my fire going well and enables me to maintain a solid fire for the evening.I wish there were more in the package, but less is more these days! :)

The only thing they light is themselves. They light quickly, unfortunately they don't light anything around them, least of all wood! Tried to use them for my wood stove, used 4 of them, they stayed lit for about 5 minutes, and that was that! Do not recommend. I sent them back.

This lit up so quickly and lasted quite awhile (maybe 10 or so minutes). We used it to light up our wood in our portable pop up pit. It quickly set the wood on fire where we placed it but the wood didn't stay lit. Once the fire starter ended so did our fire. We bought our firewood from Walmart

I used these to start the pellets in my smoking tube for the BBQ. It took me 4 or 5 times with a butane torch to get it to stay lit to get the pellets going. I did cut it in half since I wasn't looking for a cap fire. Maybe that was the problem. Once it got going it was fine just had to fiddle with it. A match wouldn't have worked.

I never thought I could start fire so easily with this. Grilling was always my son’s job because I didn’t like using a chimney starter. With this fire starter, it’s so easy no more chimney starter. Highly recommend!
