As for this unit, it is really simple and reliable. I just keep filling up the large hopper with dry food (up to four meal times per 24hr, adjustable portion sizes for each - DRY FOOD ONLY) and thats that for around three weeks! All the sections come apart easily for cleaning too.This unit is not smart enabled, so you can't monitor your pet's feeding habits but that was not an issue for me.I did use the sound recording gimmick - i recorded a desk bell 'ding', so that every meal time, it 'rings'. It isn't very loud but it makes me smile and who knows, Pavlovian conditioning might kick in so that I could summon my cats remotely if they are out. This has not happened so far. At all.Other than that, the unit makes a low whirring gear noise at each serving, as the internal portion dividing cup slowly rotates and tips out the contents which clatters into the tray. Btw, the logo on the front is made from stickers so you can easily remove them for a cleaner look.My only criticisms are that the lid on top of the unit (which firmly locks closed until a button on the front is pressed) could do with being sprung loaded. This would make filling it a bit easier with one hand. Also, the food tray could do with being at a slightly steeper rake, so that the food reaches the front rather than making a pile at the back that gradually pushes forward. My cats have learned to scoop anything at the back forward though. Hungry cats are hungry cats. Lastly, the 'manual' button which adds a portion or two as and when you need it, would be more useful if it was not protected by the lid (all controls are grouped together under the transparent lid) and accessible without having to open it up. However, none of these are a real issue.As for the concept of using an automatic feeder, I initially got this for holiday cover, along with a self filling water bowl but have kept the setup permanently. This is because it has significantly de-stressed my two cats! And me! Because they know when and what it sounds like AND that I am not directly the source of food, they don't follow us around asking for the food, there is no jumping onto counters looking for the mysterious hiding place of the food, they don't wind themselves around legs and get in the way during cooking as an act of supplication that will be rewarded with the food.Just chilled out cats, who now spend their non sleeping time in the home pleasantly socialising with us rather than anxiously competing and whining.Structure - we like it, kids like it, cats like it.

Very easy and simple to program, elegant and does it's job properly! A good purchase for sure. My cat goes running towards the feeder every time the food drops (4 times a day), the food container has a good closure and he does not try to steel food from it. Oh and you can record silly stuff for when the food drops haha (even that is simple to do).I would only chose a better surface for the food plate, it could be less slippery so that the food doesn't migrate so much when the cat eats, but that's not something that would keep you for buying one of these. Totally recommend!

this is a great product. It works very well but the instructions could be a bit clearer. Its very difficult to understand how to set the right portions and what the increments are. I had to do many tests to understand how many units to set for each meal - but after a bit of test and learn it was a treat. I highly recommend this product and my cat had absolutely no problem understanding how to use it. The food does stay at the back about but she just brings it forward.Highly recommend.

This is my 4th auto dog feeder in as many years and so far this is the best one so I thought. The others just stopped working after the 4-5th use or developed faults. Big bonus item on this is that you can plug it in so no issue with batteries dying unexpectedly. Easy to use and set up and the portion sizes are adjustable by 10g increments.That was 6 months ago, sadly this feeder has developed a fault and now useless as it won't dispense; it resets each time to gets to a feeding time.Sadly, another disappointed customer.

I spent some time making the purchase of this item and I was surprised by how much different people had to say about it.This feeder dispenses fairly accurately – I suppose the variations of a gram or so here and there, over or short, do even out over time. As others have observed, the programmer is a bit fiddly to set up but clear enough once you appreciate how it works. You need to handle the unit carefully when cleaning it, as any sharp movement will cause food to drop out. There's no chance of our cat working that out – but I daresay, some will! The timer is not particularly accurate, requiring some very occasional adjustments to keep to the scheduled meal times.I would suggest that its best feature is that it takes the cat's attention away from us as a source of food and so he does not constantly worry us to be fed – he just sits by the feeder for up to about four hours before he's due to be fed!Overall, this is a good product that has proved reliable so far.

We bought this so we could control how much food the cats get and it works very well also it is more reliable than I am regarding the time of the feed being portioned out. I had wondered if they would be ok with it but to be honest it has been a revaluation. The cats now are more calm and contented with their feeding regime. The voice recorded / announcer is cute as an add on.Worth every penny.

Really has changed our cats way of living. Being both full time workers it allows continuity for the cat.

Great product, easy and intuitive to set up and the cats love it! The large capacity is also handy as I can fill and forget!
