I noticed the issue with the tongue seam at the bottom near the arch of the foot, but all it took was to preposition the tongue once and wear the boots for a while and any rub was eliminated. problem no more on the first time out. I just slide them on and zip them up now with zero issues. like wearing comfy slippers! **Q: The cloth behind the ankle has worn out after 6 months does the warranty cover that?** A: I don't actually work for or represent the company; however I can't imagine any warranty for a pair of boots lasting through six months of wear. I have been wearing this style of boots for nearly 10 years now and I had that problem with the first few pairs. The problem goes away if you lace them up tight across the arch (like a pair of tennis shoes). In most high ankle work boots the laces around the ankle are worn tight and the laces over the arch are just snug. This keeps the boot tightly on your foot, but allows your foot to move around a bit on the sole. These aren't exactly work boots. They were designed by Converse in the early 2000's for US soldiers in the field of battle. Some of the durability and protection normally offered by a pair of work boots has been sacrificed in the design for comfort and speed of movement. I spend most of my day on my feet in a highly physically challenging environment and I am lucky if I get an entire year out of a pair. I usually get new ones every six to twelve months. If you are buying them for looks, don't. They aren't designed for that. If you are buying them for durability to last for years, don't. They aren't designed for that. If you are buying them for a light pair of comfortably protective boots which will leave you less fatigued at the end of a busy work day, Do It! True to size and very comfortable. I have owned Rapid Respond boots, both in black smooth leather and tan suede. for many years and have never been disappointed at the quality, fit and comfortability. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Professional, but feel about 15 years out of date *by B***S on July 13, 2023* These boots are well insulated, especially around the ankles. Compared to the svelte Danner, Nike, or garamont AR-670 compliant boots I'm more familiar with, these feel chunky.A lot of people like the side-zip ankle but I don't find much benefit. In order to fit my feet I still need to undo the laces for ingress/egress, so it adds a step instead of saving one. I think part of this has to do with the amount of padding on the ankle to prevent the zipper from rubbing.The boot is wide generally, which makes the hard toe more obvious. I find the boot hot and not breathable.
