Replacement Battery for JBL Charge 3 GSP1029102A(6000mAh)

I bought this battery due to an issue I started having where I heard a popping noise whenever there was a song with heavy bass in it, and then after some time, the speaker wouldn’t hold a charge for more than a couple of minutes. When plugged in, the speaker played without any issues, so I knew this was a battery problem and not a blown speaker. Also, you will see some reviews/comments which say they were sent the wrong battery, as the connector wouldn’t line up correctly with the one they have. Please note - this is not the case - depending on the year of your speaker, JBL changed the connectors around. You will need to take apart your speaker before ordering - then look at the White connector at the end of the battery wiring harness. One side of the connector has two raised guide ridges on it. Just match up which side the red wires match with the connector plug to the pics on this battery and you will be fine. My battery came fully charged and once installed, worked perfectly. After two weeks of use (about 1-2 hours a day) I finally had to charge it and it’s working like the day I bought the speaker.

This was a crap shoot based on the many options for these batteries. I read many comments and decided on this one due to their work in really describing the difference between the two options that JBL used on these Charge 3 speakers.I do recommend searching YT for the videos out there to take your speaker apart. Then make sure you see the type of battery you currently have to ensure you order the correct replacement.We had the weird sounds, crackling, lack of battery run time etc. This solved all of those issues and it's been over a week and I've yet to have to recharge it. Still showing 5 lights.I did carefully take the black insulation off of the cord on the old battery and even some of the black padding on that old battery and applied it to this replacement.I was so bummed about this issue I was going to just buy a new speaker. Finally decided on doing this and I'm so glad I did. Flat head and philips screw driver and you too can have a like new speaker again.If this takes a dive I will update this review.

The battery was great...at first....replaced the battery and it fired up right away. Worked great for a few weeks - was actually holding a charge for longer than expected. But then, about 2 weeks in, the speaker would randomly, suddenly power down. Then, about a month later, the battery wouldn't hold a charge and when plugged in, it wouldn't gain battery power. It would just blink on the last indicator light, but never progress (there are 5 battery power indicator lights total). Now it won't even respond when plugged in....This is the second battery that has done this (first was from another seller)...Contacting Amazon.

Well packaged! Even had some buffer bumpers so that it fit snugly in the battery compartment. Getting the JBL3 open was not quick and easy (14 tiny screws! and then a mad-tight end cap you have to twist off thinking it is glued on because it is so tight). My speaker works great again (and I have threatened family members if they use the wrong charger there will be Severe Consequences). I didn't have any problem with the wires- but I checked my model number (required a magnifying glass and good light to see I had a 2011 version- located inside the connection area). Seller was great, packed well, and battery is working great (for 3 days so far, of intermittent use, haven't yet charged it up).

Perfect install. Make sure to order the exact battery replacement. Holds a charge like it did when I got it new!

I've owned a JBL Charge 3 for quite some time now and recently purchased this battery replacement because the original one wore out and wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few minutes and also made popping noises when not plugged in. Swapped batteries and works like new! Sounds great again.

Had to switch the red and black wires by depressing the pins within the connector. Thought the first one was dead on arrival, so re-ordered the same, switched the wiring, and reinstalled - worked. This product does need the foam padding to ensure the battery and wires do not rattle within the case.
